Exmaple

On many Roleplay forums I visit, it seems that people prefer to post individual topics every time they want to start a new RP, rather than organizing all of their information in one post. Therefore, I get a lot of people asking me what I'm on about when I try to explain the latter. Sometimes showing is better than explaining, so here you go. (You may include more or less information in your own thread. You may also use a completely different layout, or copy mine. Do whatever you feel represents you the best.)

Currently: Not Looking (Please, do not contact me for RP at this time unless you really think you're hot shit.)

Please, do not post in this thread. If I am open to taking roleplay(not at the moment), contact me via PM.

About me and what I'm looking for:

§ Plot. Plot plot plot. Plot, plot. PLOT! Even the best characters and concepts fall short if there's no direction. I adore setting time aside to plot things out. Sometimes, characters veer from the path, but that's usually fine as long as they don't dig themselves into a hole. Expect to sit down and plot before we start. It's rare that I'll even agree to a RP without plotting first, however.

§ 1x1s. I am primarily interested in 1x1 RP, but may consider a group RP if the plot is interesting enough. Multiple characters are awesome, however.

§ Literacy. Grammar is my main point here. You don't have to be an English major, but know the different between to, too, two; your, you're; and they're, there, and their. Typos and misspellings happen.

§ How often I post. With work, I would like to say I can post a couple times a week, depending on homework and the rate at which others reply(most of my partners are slow, so I don't have a lot of posts to work on at the same time). Sometimes, I can post plenty of times a day, but sometimes I get REALLY busy, or things at home may wear my brain out. Please, keep this in mind. I will gladly keep you updated. [Have been slower lately]

§ Post length. Two to five paragraphs(or 250 to 600 words), on average. Opening posts tend to be longer, and points of high interaction/dialogue tend to be shorter. I don't really like trying to write a novel every time I make a post. I RP for interaction, otherwise I'd write a book. If I fail to give you enough to work with, however, please feel free to tell me. I'm not easily offended, so please be open and honest with me about any problems you may have. What I ask for from you: just give me something I can work with. Quality over quantity; that said, I am attracted to well-fleshed posts.

§ Forums only, please. Forums are my favorite RP medium, mainly because I can keep things well-organized and easily go back and reread old posts. I will not RP over messenger nor any other medium.

§ Sexuality. I am only interested in male x male relationships. As for "position," my characters aren't always easy to define. Most probably prefer bottom, but I have a good many who switch, and some that more often top. The main determining factor is size, followed by personality and taste. If my character is smaller, he'll probably be a bottom. I relate dominance and submission more to personality than I do to top/bottom/switch. Please, keep in mind that while I might be open to adult scenes, I don't want a roleplay littered in them, and sometimes I'm really not in the mood to do anything more than fade-to-black.

§ Characters. You can almost guarantee that I will make a new character for every single RP. I tend to start off asking "What kind of plot do we want? What kind of relationship do we want?" I'll then pitch some character ideas and build from there. If you like one of my existing characters, I might be willing to make another based off of him, if I'm not willing to play that very one. I tend to play characters between the ages of 24 to 35, though I may play older or younger characters.

§ Setting. I like fantasy, whether there's a lot of magic or none. I can't often stand modern fantasy, however. As far as the actual world goes, I prefer original worlds. I am horrible with geography and history, and I want to neither butcher a setting due to ignorance, nor fret and stress over things that may or may not matter.

§ Communication. Please, talk to me. If you're just feeling blocked/unmotivated/uninspired, let me know. Even if you can't place it, maybe we can fix it, and if you need/want to scrap the RP altogether, it's FINE, just tell me, okay? I promise that you wont upset me if you come and tell me, "This RP sucks. I can't get into it. It's boring."

In short, I BEG YOU, talk to me about any problems you have, or if you just want to drop it without trying, let me know! I don't mind killing off an RP without any questions, nor do I mind boggling my brain for ways to try and save it, but if you don't communicate with me I wont know. Nothing bothers me as much as someone just dropping an RP without telling me, either because they just decided they didn't want to do it any more, or because they became blocked and ultimately forgot about it. In return, I'll show you the same honesty. PLEASE NOTE: If you abandon me without word or reason, I may not be so willing to invest my time into an RP with you in the future.

Basic Plot Concepts

Expect most of this to be filler for the sake of the example that this is.

High Seas A man sneaks aboard a pirate ship(or maybe a royal military vessel or trade ship) in order to get passage to another land. Obviously, he knows he can't hide forever, but as long as he can remain unknown until turning back is no longer an option, surely he can plead his case and offer himself as manual labor in exchange for not being tossed overboard.

Something There was a toaster, a bandit toaster, wanted throughout all of the lands. It never thought it would get caught until the Blacksmith crafted a magnetic hammer or whooseywhatsit. Are the toaster's days of freedom and thievery over, or will he earn his pardon after allying with the Blacksmith in order to forge the toastsaber, the key to saving all of the kingdom's loaves?
