Help Wanted

I wanted to post earlier but i had to jet.

the set up so far looks pretty legit, although I'm not sure how wise it is to have roleplays hosted in this world,  since to post in character, they have to be added to the world, which allows any other member to see the profile, even if it's a private character. 

Other than that, i suggest a "furry" and "feral" board under "find roleplay" since i feel that those should have their own place instead of being labeled under "general". The same might go for romance (maybe have a board just for getting characters shipped?)

I'll put up a notice that posting IC causes that, but people don't have to use the forums here to RP. They're entirely optional, and I wont be upset if no one uses them at all. People also don't have to post IC by Toyhou.se standards in order to roleplay.

I'll definitely consider giving Feral and Furry their own boards, but I'd like to hear from more users, though. There are a lot of genres that could possibly do to have their own board, but there's so much overlap that I'm afraid things would just get messy and confusing.

Romance, on the other hand, I'm less likely to give its own. I have been hard-pressed to find RP or RP boards where there isn't at least some level of romance. It seems that adding a romance board would really just be redundant. Again, if a lot of other users feel otherwise, I might add it in, but at this time it doesn't seem best. Correct me if I'm wrong, but "shipping" characters just seems like RPing with premades?

To post in character in a world, you have to add them first -- that is waht makes their profiles viewable to all world members. But your warnings work and you're right, you don't have to post IC to roleplay.

"Shipping" is short for "relationshipping" I guess? Essentially, creating a relationship (not necessarily romantic) between two or more characters. A lot of people have search threads just for that so I thought having a corresponding board might be helpful. 

Sorting is a huge pain, because I like what you did, but I defintely would have sorted different, probably because I'm used to RPG-D.

I guess I only thought about "pure romance" boards because so many people on Gaia Online are looking less for plot and more for romance. 

Ah, I see. Kind of makes sense, kind of a shame. Hopefully, Toyhou.se will add more options to that in the future. Gonna play around with that and see if I can't figure out exactly how all of that works. I was actually just sorting the folders and considering how characters tags could make the whole sorting problem much smaller, but... Like you said, that doesn't sound very attractive to people who want to keep their characters private to some degree.

Sorting is a huge pain when it comes to such a broad range of possible interests. I could make a LOT of boards and people could post in the one that suits them best, but say, for example, that I want to play a character or plot that would easily fit into Fantasy, Homosexual (male/yaoi), and Humanoid. I pick one to toss him in, but I might miss out if a potential partner only checks the other two. Considering that this world is still new and not overflowing with searches, I'd rather keep the division to a singular category that seems to be more important to people.In some forums the main division seems to be genre. In others it's sexuality, and here it may even be body type (humanoid, anthro, furry). I wish there was a way to set up a poll here. I might make an external poll and link to it.

Oooh, poll sounds awesome. I'm still going to vote for a "Ship Finder" section but yeah, things are probably as good as it's going to be so far lol.

GDI, ToyHou.se split up the "Find Roleplay" category. It legit wasn't that way when I posted earlier e3e

I plan on rethinking the organization prior to the poll. I'll definitely consider "Shipping" when I do.

Yeah, I was noticing that myself. I actually just got done posting a thread in the Bugs and Suggestions part of the forum, haha.
