mom said it’s my turn to throw an old, happily married woman into the mix.
please stick to platonic responses!! Walker is just someone who needs friends; don’t turn her into a creep- ;-;
it is time for Walker to gain a friend through a follow-up- >:(
“Yes…” Walker drawled to the other with a slight nod, “... To, uh… ‘Hang out,’ or however you young folks would call it.” Walker, you sound like someone in your forties. Whether that was fortunate or not was up to debate.
But hey, platonic interpretations exist! So… It probably didn’t matter much in the end.
What did matter, though, was the fact that she had heard her husband running into the younger woman at some point, which was probably why poor Walker ended up in this scenario in the first place. She remembered Smithson recalling to her once how he had run into the other party while in the woods, which was… Sort of unusual to her, but at least he had come out of the incident unscathed?
Still, there was tension in the air, and Walker wasn’t stupid enough to try agitating the other party on purpose.
Hopefully, at least.
She raised her brows when the other party finally responded, prompting Walker to dip her head and reply, “Ah, I see. If you really want to get out of the forest, then…” Oh. The middle-aged woman trailed off to glance over her shoulder and chew on her lip. “... I could help… If you want? Though you live there, so I doubt that I can really help you in that regard… Mm? You could help me out, though…” Well then.
Walker was, however, betraying a small smile at the other. After all, if her husband regarded the other with some awe, then… It wouldn’t be a really bad idea to get to know her better… Right?
