She'd heard the stories and rumors, and while it was a few years before her time, Illanya knew well the story of the Princess Executioner. Personally, she couldn't claim to know the truth of what had occurred in that town all those many years ago, only what was suspected by her compatriots. Illanya herself was of the opinion that "possessed" children were often anything but.
This wasn't something she particularly voiced as she made her way to where she'd heard rumors of a restless spirit, young and haunting to the people of this area as well as a witch. In fact, despite what most of the people around thought of the traveling knight, Illanya wasn't here to exorcise the supposed ghost princess or fight any witch. Far from it. It was her oath, the promise to kindle the light in places where she saw only darkness that drew her here. It was a small thing, far from the grandiose missions of slaying monsters and fighting literal evil, but a necessary and important duty regardless. At least Illanya enjoyed these short little visits the most, even if there was no money to be made from such trips.
Sorrowful, angry, rightfully so. After all, injustice had seemingly won those many years ago. Quietly, Illanya allows her senses to open, exposing her to the energies around her. It isn't terribly hard for her to locate the nearest undead being, armored footsteps taking her to Nora a little more directly than her previous meandering. The woman gives the ghostly child a gentle smile.
"Hello, young Miss Nora," Her voice is quiet and gentle, not unlike how someone might speak to a spooked animal. "I had heard it was your birthday. Now, I don't know how often you get visitors to celebrate but... I thought I may as well stop by to give you my well wishes." As she speaks, she opens her hand, and from somewhere on the knight's person, vines coil up Illanya's wrist and form into a flower crown, one that after adjusting a moment is one she attempts to place on Nora's head. An easier, more jubilant grin spreads across the knight's face, at least until she seems to remember something and raises a hand.
"Oh! I almost forgot. This is for you as well." She pulls something from her bag, it's a rather stout-looking stuffed animal that is rather similar to cotton candy in color and seems to resemble an elephant if such creatures were fluffy and round. Illanya chuckles as she hands it off to Nora. "Where I am from, these are called dream beasts. The real creatures are a little more troublesome than this plush is, but it was something I was able to pick up from the Fey Realm on my last visit." The knight muses, giving the plush dream beast a pat on the head.
"Happy Birthday! I hope this new little companion treats you well and brings only the best of hopes and dreams to your time here on this plane." Illanya chirps happily, stepping back and smiling proudly at the ghost child. She bows, tapping a hand to her chest in a salute. "I hope the rest of this day and the upcoming year bring you good fortune!"
@ NP: Shame on me for forgetting to post in here on her birthday, it was only ten days ago 😔. Regardless, Illanya is typically the sort to celebrate alone, keeping to her small circle of friends and family. Regardless she pretty much takes anything in stride, so do whatever heeh! Have fun!^^
