[IC] It's the Birthday of the OC above you!

Posted 1 year, 3 months ago (Edited 1 year, 1 day ago) by Anemic

How is your character going to celebrate it? Will they bring a gift? Bake a cake? Attend the party? Or did they completely forget about it and are pretending they didn't?

(You don't have to post a character whose birthday falls on the actual day you're posting, but props if you do.)

Rules:

  1. This is an IC game!
  2. No NSFW. This thread is for characters of all ages!
  3. Romantic implications are fine if both ocs are adults.
  4. Don't be too edgy and try to ruin the birthday of the character above you unless the previous poster specified that they're okay with that. Ultimately, this is supposed to be fun for everyone.
  5. Being casual is fine, but try to post at least five sentences.
  6. No godmodding.
  7. Try to make sure to that at least half of your post is about your oc's interaction with the other character, not just giving them a gift in the last few sentences.
  8. Wait 3 posts before you post again unless 5 days have passed.
  9. Try to your claim within 3 hours.
  10. Optional: You can specify how (or even if) your oc would celebrate their birthday for the next poster.

I will add more rules as I think of them.

First person gets a freebie! Happy Birthday to your oc!

 Ghost kirschefolf

(this would be so ironic considering he's dead 😭)

"Happy birthday Reggie."

Ghost said, holding an expertly wrapped box. He wasn't sure what Reggie wanted for his birthday, so he decided to get him something classic and simple.

A vanilla birthday cake with vanilla frosting. He'd made it himself, hoping Reggie would be happy with it. He knew it wasn't much, but it'd the thought that counts, right?

He handed the gift to him, not knowing what to say. He'd already wished him a happy birthday, so what next? Ghost thought for a moment before finally finding his words.

"Right, so.. Happy birthday again. Have a good one."

-------

@ np: Ghost doesn't get any older anymore (being dead and all) and usually treats it as a regular day. He'll go with it if the others decide to celebrate, though.

For his birthday, he'd want llama and alpaca plushies or a gift card to a fancy restaurant.

Corky Vapor

She felt like she had seen this guy in a music video before…

..So, what better to fall in the good graces of such a celebrity by celebrating his birthday? Besides, even if he was dead, that shouldn't stop him from having a good time!

Corky, ever Corky-like, was proud, grinning like a chimp, reeking of bleach. It was hard work getting these kinds of gift cards, after all – so she spent the entire day cleaning houses! Maybe. Totally, actually, yeah. She was cleaning houses, doing all the dishes, wiping down the bathroom and the kitchen, the walls, the floors, the… didn't matter in the end, did it? She got what she needed, and she flexed it so, flipping the card towards poor, unsuspecting Ghost.

"This was a real tricky one," she said to him, "So, you at least owe me… you having a good time! I guess. But having the favor be returned would be so cool, too." She then gestured to the card. "There's about a hundred on that thing! Maybe. I don't actually know! Lady didn't tell me, and you can never tell when– you know what? Hey! How about you and me go together? My treat!"

--

NP: Go crazy. Today of posting is Corky's bday for real. Feel free to ruin it if you want to, she's a little terrible. Tiny bit awful.

Adrien Garcia PicklePantry

For some reason Adrien felt like he was eleven days late for Corky's birthday. Maybe it was the haunting idea that there was some higher being that was controlling his every actions and thoughts somehow giving him the information, or maybe, just maybe, it was the tattered happy birthday banners.

It was a little sad to see, honestly. There was no one else in the room with Corky besides him, and he'd only come to infiltrate the vampire gang. Not even that other vampire woman was around. Wasn't she high up in the gang? It'd be even worse if he up slaying her (attempting to, at least).

This may be a dire mistake. Adrien put his gun away and came out of where he was hiding. "Uh..." Great, what now? "Happy birthday?" Good start. Despite how old Corky really was, her attitude reminded him a lot of Chad. What would Chad want during his birthday?

"Do you want... to go to IHOP? Uh. Bro?"

Manual bump, ignore me!

Morgan [Reality] (Morgan) FuzzyPckls

Morgan nervously stood around as he waited for the cake to bake. He still couldn't wrap his brain around why he was baking a cake for a random stranger, and it was even more confusing why his gut told him that some random stranger's birthday today. Well, hopefully he would've enjoyed the cake anyway. Maybe it would've helped his eye feel better?

Morgan hummed a tune to himself before greeting Adrian at a random wooden table a a park as he sat the cake down. Birthday memorabilia was scattered on the birthday themed tablemat alongside a couple balloons that looked a bit deflated. Morgan felt incredibly awkward and uncomfortable, yet swallowed his pride before standing up. The warm July sun peeked out from the clouds, helping Morgan's mood and making him smile.

"I have no idea why my gut is telling me it's your birthday, but if it's not then umm...you can just consider this a random act of kindness? Happy birthday!" Morgan said before blowing into a party horn. He then nervously stood around before giving a wave and walking away, feeling a little better about himself for being a good person. Even if it took a good chunk of his day and his wallet.

np: Morgan is a generally friendly and happy go lucky person, so as long as you put effort into picking out/making a good gift then he'd always be glad to receive it.

hazel meyers creatfran

i'll do both of you RosemaryLocust FuzzyPckls hope you guys don't mind the pings and hope you like it ^^ (under spoilers for length)

for henry:

No one deserved to be treated like a monster.

That's what Hazel first thought when she was doing research on the so-called 'experiment' named Henry Sterling, and that's what she kept thinking when she sneaked into uncharted territory to see him. After her own experiences, the thought of someone trapped in by wires and fences hurt.

And now that she was near Henry, seeing him like that made the pain even worse.

"Hey," she greeted, sitting down in the shade under a tree. "Heard it was your birthday a while ago. I would have made it sooner,  there were some complications. Hope my gift makes up for it; they say you like this stuff." She opened her satchel and took out a slab of something covered in tin foil. After unwrapping the packaging, the gift revealed itself to be a generous chunk of raw chicken. Hazel put it on the ground near Henry.

There was a silence. She exhaled, fidgeting with her bangs. "Why would anyone keep you here? It's just inhumane..." The witch laid down, putting her hands under her head. She looked at the sky with remorse, wondering how cruel it would be to be locked away like this: a miserable bird in a cage.

"I swear I'll try and find a way to get you out of this place. If you want, you could chill around the forest where I live. Or do whatever. You should be able to decide for yourself. If I have enough time, maybe it'll be by your next birthday...that would be quite a gift, wouldn't it?"

for morgan:

"Well, you can't say I didn't try."

Hazel gave Morgan an awkward smile as they stood in the main room of the Bulbagarden Flower Store. Green streamers and banners were strung on the walls, and balloons in the shapes of plants hung near the windows.

"I know you don't own this shop, but it's quite nice." She looked around at all the renovations she had done in the past few hours. "For that, I thought I could maybe do something to celebrate your birthday. And since my friends want me to be more sociable," her eyes rolled, "...oh, here."

She walked over to a nearby table which had a tray of cupcakes. Considering that the only thing Hazel knew about baking prior to last night was how to put something in an oven, they didn't look too bad. Especially when it came to the piping job: the frosting petals as decorations looked amateur, though there was an undeniable effort put into every one of them.

The gardener nervously looked at Morgan. "If I knew more about Pokemon, I would have given you something related to that...though I don't. Hope you like my crappy baking skills. Um- if you get poisoned, then I swear it wasn't my fault. Happy birthday."

-

np: hazel doesn't really do much for her birthday but anything gardening related is cool (it would also be funny if you made it over the top since she's a fish out of water when it comes to extravagant parties)

Flavio Burnett Vapor

          "You poor thing."

Flavio couldn't help it. Hazel looked like a deer in headlights among the crowd of the part of this end of the courtyard. His wife went on and on about "such a sweet girl" and "you will like her, I promise", and... maybe she was right on both accounts, but he pitied the young woman nonetheless, surrounded by people and decadent foods and everything that he noticed as being different for her. He couldn't blame her. He was a victim of similar gatherings, always overwhelmed, but he forced himself to suck it all up. He felt he could not place that same expectation upon Hazel.

"..I heard it was your birthday. If only I had prepared a gift, I would hand it over..." He fell into an awkward silence, his eyes narrowed for a moment as he was lost in thought, as he closely studied her. "I don't mean to bother you, if you would rather be alone," he muttered, "But I do like your hat. Do you... have an interest in plants, maybe? There are some on it that -- I rather like them." Too many 'likes' in one bit of dialogue. He felt as thought he had his foot in his mouth, and wanted to quickly move along.

"But, if you would like to," he then said, "There is a greenhouse on the estate -- my greenhouse. Two... greenhouses, but mine... is more exciting, I think." He paused again, weighing carefully whether or not he was really going to let her hang out in there. It was a special day, he reminded himself, and so he let out a sigh. "Many of the flora I keep in there are not native to my homeland. They are rare, imported from all over, and... if you would like to take a flower home, then... let me know. If you don't prefer flowers... hm. The other greenhouse... has... pears and tomatoes..?"

@ NP: you are free to ruin his birthday if you want to . otherwise go crazy

Maria Pavlina denishdraws

first of all, she doesn't know the man second she only meets him only one time. the party was too crowded for her she just sat in a quiet place and enjoyed the cake. hoping that no one will notice her, well she may get some unwanted attention due to her being an albino and maybe the only one that has white hair at such an age.

well, she can see the birthday boy from here, he having a nice chat with the other guest at the party, oh look the plate is empty she stands up and walks to take another slice of cake. is she here just for the cake, maybe the cake is delicious though and it's her favorite flavor kind of cake, after getting the cake she plans to eat the cake in the previous place that was she plan for until Flavio notices her and calls her to get her ass over there, she ignores it until he drags her to get some conversation with other guests than just eating cake like a loner.

like she was expecting she just listened to them while eating the cake, maybe he dragged her here because she here for the food only someone asked who is she "Maria, a priest at a funeral home, no I'm not gifting him a coupon for the funeral home, no I'm not like a priest in the church, no we are not a cult, yes there are other people from a different religion who is a "priest", I'm an albino that why my hair is white" she explains all of it and continue to eating cake

Np: god mode is okay as long she is well she, her birth day well mostly her relatives come and some friends

Nora Tomatoteddy

Nora didn't know the woman that much. Apparently, she and her mother knew eachother, she farmed her own goods too. Why Nora had to come too was beyond her. But she didn't mind so much, it was a new opportunity to see the world beyond her own house.

She held her toy rabbit to her chest as she followed her mother. There were surprisingly a lot of people here, presumably other family members and friends. Nora finally saw the birthday woman in the crowd. A beautiful woman with long, white hair and gorgeous eyes. She was busy talking to some other people, and held a plate of cake in her hands. Her mother smiled down to Nora as she urged her forward.

Nora held a parcel in the other hand as she approached the woman. It was her mother's gift, but Talia thought it'd be nice if she tried talking to someone new. So Nora patiently waited until the woman noticed her standing next to her. "Hello, this is a gift from my mother" Nora told her, handing her the parcel. The gift hidden inside the wrapping paper was a book, the cover was decorated in intricate and beautiful swirls of gold.

Nora curtsied to Maria, a small smile on her face. "Happy birthday. I hope you have a good day" she said, before walking off to find her mother and also to probably find where the cake was.

----------

@NP: Nora finds modern stuff fascinating due to being a Medieval ghost, so it'd be pretty cool to see her interact with something modern! She'd also probably prefer a more simple and smaller birthday party, with only her family and friends with her, since she's had a few extravagant parties in her time as a princess (which she does not want to think about).

Illanya Mariold HardyLark

She'd heard the stories and rumors, and while it was a few years before her time, Illanya knew well the story of the Princess Executioner. Personally, she couldn't claim to know the truth of what had occurred in that town all those many years ago, only what was suspected by her compatriots. Illanya herself was of the opinion that "possessed" children were often anything but.

This wasn't something she particularly voiced as she made her way to where she'd heard rumors of a restless spirit, young and haunting to the people of this area as well as a witch. In fact, despite what most of the people around thought of the traveling knight, Illanya wasn't here to exorcise the supposed ghost princess or fight any witch. Far from it. It was her oath, the promise to kindle the light in places where she saw only darkness that drew her here. It was a small thing, far from the grandiose missions of slaying monsters and fighting literal evil, but a necessary and important duty regardless. At least Illanya enjoyed these short little visits the most, even if there was no money to be made from such trips.

Sorrowful, angry, rightfully so. After all, injustice had seemingly won those many years ago. Quietly, Illanya allows her senses to open, exposing her to the energies around her. It isn't terribly hard for her to locate the nearest undead being, armored footsteps taking her to Nora a little more directly than her previous meandering. The woman gives the ghostly child a gentle smile.

"Hello, young Miss Nora," Her voice is quiet and gentle, not unlike how someone might speak to a spooked animal. "I had heard it was your birthday. Now, I don't know how often you get visitors to celebrate but... I thought I may as well stop by to give you my well wishes." As she speaks, she opens her hand, and from somewhere on the knight's person, vines coil up Illanya's wrist and form into a flower crown, one that after adjusting a moment is one she attempts to place on Nora's head. An easier, more jubilant grin spreads across the knight's face, at least until she seems to remember something and raises a hand.

"Oh! I almost forgot. This is for you as well." She pulls something from her bag, it's a rather stout-looking stuffed animal that is rather similar to cotton candy in color and seems to resemble an elephant if such creatures were fluffy and round.  Illanya chuckles as she hands it off to Nora. "Where I am from, these are called dream beasts. The real creatures are a little more troublesome than this plush is, but it was something I was able to pick up from the Fey Realm on my last visit." The knight muses, giving the plush dream beast a pat on the head.

"Happy Birthday! I hope this new little companion treats you well and brings only the best of hopes and dreams to your time here on this plane." Illanya chirps happily, stepping back and smiling proudly at the ghost child. She bows, tapping a hand to her chest in a salute. "I hope the rest of this day and the upcoming year bring you good fortune!"

@ NP: Shame on me for forgetting to post in here on her birthday, it was only ten days ago 😔. Regardless, Illanya is typically the sort to celebrate alone, keeping to her small circle of friends and family. Regardless she pretty much takes anything in stride, so do whatever heeh! Have fun!^^

Kenshin Yamada PicklePantry

Red hair tucked under a baseball cap, sunglasses on, Ken was completely disguised as he waited in line at the coffee shop. There was a special boba tea being served today, one to celebrate the birthday of his rival band's lead singer. He'd planned it all carefully, the right clothes to disguise him, the right time to get here without too much traffic, the right store tucked just away from the hectic city. This would work out great. He'd enjoy his drink, then WRITE A TERRIBLE REVIEW!

     Then tragedy struck.

Who knows how it happened, but right as Ken was putting his card away and reached for the tantalizing drink waiting for him near the register, his hat flew off! A hand quickly swung to the top of his head to confirm his worries, and wide, red eyes looked down at the cap on the ground. Shit. He reached down to get it, but the angle caused his sunglasses to fall off. Shit. He was fully exposed.

Quickly getting up, Ken gulped. There was no way he'd be able to recover unless... He looked to the man waiting in line behind hi-- What the hell? Why was he dressed like a monk?! Was he in disguise too? And what was that big, dumb smile on his face for? It almost felt like it was mocking him.
But no, wait, this could work out. That guy had to be attracting eyes (except for the cashier who seemed exhausted at the sight of him), and for those that kept staring--

"H-Here you go!" Ken said with a forced laugh as he handed Onsae the boba tea. "J-Just like you wanted! Happy birthday! I hope you like it, you've earned it." Yes, he'd look like a great and generous person, getting a drink celebrating his enemy for a random person on his birthday.

He wants all the attention and praise for his bday
