This thread was kicking around a couple of months back before it lost momentum. I thought it might be cool to get it going again!

✨WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT✨

Ever wanted to try voice acting? Or, maybe you'd like to hear someone else having a go at bringing your OC to life? If so, you've come to the right place! The aim of this thread is for people to post and/or act a few lines of each other's OCs.

✨HOW TO PLAY✨

The rules, if you're already familiar with them, are gonna be pretty much the same as last time.
This thread has the potential to get very complicated (so please read the full post) -- here's what to do:

If you're looking to receive a little bit of voice acting:

• Post IC, with some lines for your character. Anything from a handful of one-liners to a longer monologue is okay. You can leave some kind of instruction for how you'd like the lines to be delivered, or just leave it up to the actors interpretation.
• EXAMPLE POST
  (posting IC as Chris) Hey, here are some lines for my character Chris. Chris is a young boy, so he has a high-pitched voice. He tends to talk loudly, and his tone is a little nasal. Also, he is a ghost, so if you can add a kind of spooky echo effect that would be cool.
• [sadly] "Oh I am so alone. What is a rowdy and rambunctious boy like myself to do?"
• [exited] "Ahh, I can't wait to go poke around in the dirt and catch some cool bugs!"
• [Chris just laughing in a rowdy and rambunctious manner]
• [scared] "Who's there!? Oh god, I hope it's not the poisonous lions again..."
• "Why did the plane crash?" [pause for effect, barely stifling giggles, before delivering the punchline] "Because the pilot was a loaf of bread!" [bursts out laughing]
• You can add a preference for the kind of voice you want, (e.g. masculine/feminine, deep/high, gentle/brash, a specific accent, ect)...  just keep in mind the actors here will have to work with what they've  got-- you might not get the exact voice you're looking for! You can also request special effects and other stuff, but again, they might not be possible depending on who's acting.
• If your lines happen to take anyone's fancy, you might get a claim! (Please edit your post once you get a claim, to let people know you got something already)
• Keep in mind that you might not get a claim! After all, people in this thread will be doing stuff For Free, so your lines/character may not get chosen, or your characters might not suit the voices of any actors around here. No hard feelings!
• You can post as much as you like, just don't expect to get a claim for everything. Or anything, necessarily.
• This thread is a free-for-all: You can't get skipped! Just post your lines, and if someone finds your post and wants to have a go reading them, they will. Posts will likely not be in order. This is okay, everyone just has to make sure they ping who they're claiming so nothing gets lost.
• Don't be mean to anyone if their voice isn't what you wanted/expected! This thread is just for fun! It's nothing serious, anything you get will be for free, and done out of the kindness of the actor's heart
• Remember to thank your actor if they decide to perform your lines! <3

If you wish to claim for someone, and do a little voice acting yourself:

• Find a post with lines that you wanna try acting.
• Comment with your claim, and ping the recipient to let them know you're claiming!
• Then get Dramatique™ and record yourself voice acting the lines that were provided.
• Link or PM your recipient the file of your glorious voice
• Edit your original post to let people know your claim's been completed and sent!
• You can claim as much a you like! Just remember to follow through :'o
• Try to polish up the audio a little, if you're able to. If you can edit out long pauses or mistakes I'm sure it'd be appreciated! There's plenty of free software you can use (audacity is good!) 
• At the same time, no pressure! There's no quality standard here-- It's totally fine if you're not the best actor in the world, or if your audio setup isn't great, or if you can't edit your recordings. The aim is to try your best and have fun, not be perfect!
• If you'd like to add relevant special effects (like, weird effects for robot/ghost/monster characters, for example) go nuts!
• If someone's lines have already been claimed, you're still free to give them a go if they call to you, but priority should be on posts that haven't been acted yet.
• Keep in mind that this is just for fun. You likely won't be getting anything in return for your effort, so don't expect to be reimbursed! The aim of the game is to just have a good time.

Some other rules:

• Keep things PG! Swearing is okay, but lewd stuff is best avoided.
• Please be kind and courteous! Don't demand things of people, and remember to thank people if they put in the effort to act your lines, even if they're not what you were expecting! Likewise, if you're acting, please try and put at least a little effort in, and don't use it as an opportunity for any kind of meanness. Don't get jealous if someone else gets a claim and you don't, that's the nature of  a thread like this (and there's a chance you'll get claimed later!)
• Please don't repost the same lines even if you didn't get a claim! Once they've been up for a few day's they'll go up here, with a brief description of the desired sort of voice (to make them easier for  potential actors to find!)
• Be nice! Have fun!

If you're not so experienced in dealing  with audio, fear not: there are plenty of good resources out there, some of which I'll try to list here

Free Audio Editing

• Audacity - an open-source audio editing program I really recommend!

Free Places to Upload

• Chirbit - you need an account, but I'd highly recommend it
• Vocaroo - audio quality will be reduced & upload size is restricted, but you don't need an account!

Other Helpful Stuff

• VLC Media Player - open-source media player, which also lets you convert audio from one format to another
• Sometimes a little digital wizardry can come in handy, especially while voicing characters outside of your normal vocal range. MathewMii made a great post with some tips for masculinizing your voice with audio editing software here!

✨UNCLAIMED POSTS✨

Now that this thread has been up and running for so long, it's getting impossible  for me to manage by myself, so I've made a spreadsheet you can edit instead. If it's been a while and you haven't been claimed, feel free to add yourself to this list. If you complete a claim for a person from this list, remove their listing.
