Due to being tired of putting up with this and being yelled at over and over, I am no longer subscribed to this thread so if you have anything I need to add to this please ping or PM me. Thanks!
*sighhhh* Another Update:Â Immediately after convincing me to edit the post they changed their username to SpectralSerpants and blocked me. That's quite suspicious. Not sure what to believe anymore.
Update: Lunarsnooks has explained the situation and this whole thing seems to have just been a misunderstanding caused by them not keeping track of their characters as effectively as they could and they didn't intentionally steal anything. I have let them know that they need to manage their characters more responsibly.
Screenshot of them explaining the Jolleraptor situation, it seems like a reasonable enough explanation and they seem to genuinely realize their mistake so I'm calling this resolved.
Sorry in advance for the long post and if I did anything wrong lmk bc this is the first time I have experienced something like this first-hand
but uhh I just got my character Jaxon here in a trade and some of his art credits were outdated and the artists had moved to new accounts and whatnot so I was updating them with the help of a bit of reverse image searching and found this character... which is the same character as Jaxon, but created about a year later by lunarsnooks
I was naturally very worried but seeing as Jaxon was created much earlier and also has verified designer credits from andy/jurassics rather than just the person who uploaded him like the other character, I felt like mine is most likely the original? But I didn't want to just assume/jump to conclusions so I looked into the person who created the other character's designs and immediately noticed that they are a little inconsistent, but ok, my art can be inconsistent at times too, so I began to reverse image search some of the art and things got even more sketchy, with this character popping up here, which, yes it's an adopt and it's possible that they were reselling it I guess, but it's not credited to this person and instead credited to the person who uploaded it much like the copy of Jaxon so...Â
There's also this character/art that is credited to but clearly not made by them as the signature leads to this person, who obviously has the same art style.
Not to mention that all of these characters were uploaded on the exact same day so that seems a little weird to me too.
UPDATE:Â I messaged jurassics about this and he informed me that Jaxon is indeed the original and legitimate character. Which is a relief to me. But that also means that the person who created Arche is quite likely an art/character thief so I would be wary! They don't seem to be very active at the moment but you never know. Just be on the lookout.
Here's the message
UPDATE 2:
The stolen copy of Jaxon has been deleted (unfortunately by an innocent user who got traded the character in a scam, which I feel really bad about).Â
I also just realized that this character of theirs is very clearly this Jolleraptor. And there are still lots of their characters I haven't looked into so yea I recommend not trading for any character owned or created by them.
UPDATE 3: Update from pegasys that the Jolleraptor did indeed originally belong to lunarsnooks, however they have traded it and avoided updating the species mods so that they appear to still own the character on the species mastermind. They then reuploaded it to TH much later possibly in an attempt to go under the radar.
