This is also happening on furaffinity and deviantart, so be careful there too.
while usually I don’t request people spread the word, the hackers are confirming this scam IS working, so if you could make a bulletin and link this thread, it might stop more people from falling for it. Remember to stay safe and educated.
keep an eye out for the PayPal name [email protected] - report this PayPal user. It’s the one constant across every hacked account.

Please be careful. I was bidding on a character and it seems that this user is making character profiles and responding IC to people in bids to try and scam them out of their money.
Report their PayPal if you can.
How the scam works
User in question makes a character profile with the avatar of the actual seller and their username. They will reply IC as the real seller to your comments.
I also got a strange dm from the user before any of this happened - titled “1” with the message just reading “1”. Gave me the creeps, so I’m changing my password.

This isn't the same user but this has also been happening to another creator @\dilnyan with someone impersonating them. What I noticed is that these accounts were created like years ago and only recently started to do this impersonation scam it seems. Is there a chance these users could have gotten hacked do yall think? :(
Edit: Just saw the dilnyan impersonator's account was closed thankfully! Hopefully it was done by the admin tho ToT

Hi, just commenting to add another screenshot to the pile lol. Got one before they blocked me + deleted their account.
They were making new fake profiles at a pretty fast rate.
Grainy it’s unfortunate that so many talented artists are being targeted. I can only hope your auctions/sales continue smoothly from here. Gorgeous design by the way.

wtf it had recently happened to me with someone else stealing a character that I had already created previously and was in possession of a friend of mine. This kind of stuff makes me so angry and so anxious, I'm tired at this point. Thanks for keeping me up to date, it seems that the account of the user has already been deleted but it bothers me that they are doing this stupid things scamming and trying to steal money from so many.... This won't stop I'm afraid, and I don't know what more measures can be taken to prevent it from happening anymore.
