Try and see about reporting the PayPal email to PayPal for potential scams and issues
This is also happening on furaffinity and deviantart, so be careful there too.
while usually I don’t request people spread the word, the hackers are confirming this scam IS working, so if you could make a bulletin and link this thread, it might stop more people from falling for it. Remember to stay safe and educated.
keep an eye out for the PayPal name [email protected] - report this PayPal user. It’s the one constant across every hacked account.

Please be careful. I was bidding on a character and it seems that this user is making character profiles and responding IC to people in bids to try and scam them out of their money.
Report their PayPal if you can.
How the scam works
User in question makes a character profile with the avatar of the actual seller and their username. They will reply IC as the real seller to your comments.
I also got a strange dm from the user before any of this happened - titled “1” with the message just reading “1”. Gave me the creeps, so I’m changing my password.

It would be worth checking the code-gifter of each account that pops up to see if there is a pattern, there could be a possibility that it's someone with a main inconspicuous account with a membership making his own accounts over and over. If there's a pattern, I'd check into that person
Ofc I wouldn't jump on anything right off the bat, they could be getting hand outs and may even get hand outs from the same person without that person knowing what its for... though if you have given any hand outs lately, I would check your invite codes for any matching usernames and seeing if you can tell who may have originally asked you (esp if someone is returning over and over for another code)

it should probably be noted that this is happening to multiple people on multiple sites as well such as DA and FA by the same scammer using the same 2 emails
Also the user @\atra was just targeted by this scam as well! The user's account is closed now but they're still actively targeting artists even with a PSA up on two different sites :/

Thank you for the ping! Dunno if anyone saw but in savoryjump's adopt comment thread the person admitted to getting at least $900 from these scams in the past two days 🙏 Dunno how true that really is but guys please be careful when buying designs at the moment!
