He slept, dreaming of nothing.
"I had a weird dream last night," Syra says, absentminded.

Sparky nods along, smiling. He had a weird dream, too, but he already forgot what it was. He envies his sister's imagination, sometimes.
Sometimes he envies her.
He slept, dreaming of nothing. Nothing, except maybe wonders, anxieties, odd, strange fear mixed into a blur that was slowly, surely slipping away from him.
He opened(?) his eyes, but the anxiety, the wondering, the burning wondering remained.
where are you? where did you go?
He rubs his eyes (had he even opened them?) and he turned to nobody, asking, saying,
"I had a weird dream last night."
