Other than his regular kibble, Tek hadn't really tried a lot of different foods over his lifetime. He'd be given treats occasionally, and sometimes scraps of people food when the opportunity arose. However, his culinary horizons had broadened ever since the move to the Slate Mine estate. He was often very surprised with how good different foods could taste. His favorite by far was the grilled cheese thing that his trainer had introduced him to.

It had started as just a one time thing. They'd sat on the porch together and shared the food, enjoying each other's company. But after that day, it sort of turned into a tradition without either of them really realizing it. Tek now got his own, tiny grilled cheese after every trial, regardless of his performance. The collie thought that it was a wonderful treat to end a day of competing. The warmth of the grilled cheese seemed to ease Tek's mind, and it helped him feel better about his trials regardless of how well he thought he had performed.

This new treat had been an incredible game changer. The trainer had just made sure that this stayed a secret between them. If the vet found out...well, they'd probably both get an ear full.
