HOW DID THEY MEET?

Lian saw Hawks shortly after arriving in Japan and wanted his jacket so he asked him if he could steal it. Hawks was intrigued and set up a situation where Lian could steal one of his spare jackets because he wanted to see Lian again. Its the only coat lian will wear in the winter because long sleeves cover his tattoos and he doesn't like that.
