Izayoi Summaries

Months after retaking the country, the situation has mostly stabilized and Horai decides to restore relations with the country to the south- Tal'el. Previously, Nocturna and Tal'el had been very close allies, but in the last few decades the alliance had broken down. He travels to Tal'el, taking Adrian and Aurora with him.

They reach the desert capital and meet the king of Tal'el, Qu'nod and his two sons, Qu'tal and Jei'ran. Though Jei'ran is younger than his brother, he is set to become king. Horai and Qu'nod talk of marriage between Jei'ran and Aurora, since they are about the same age. Aurora's not too happy about this because boys have cooties, you know.

Anyway, once Aurora's gone to bed and the adults continue talking about political information, Qu'tal sneaks into her sleeping quarters and attacks her. Luckily, Horai is able to stop him before he does anything worse than give Aurora a cut on her arm. 

This incident causes Qu'tal to be arrested and thrown in jail, with Qu'nod explaining that he had already been punished for a previous event, and he proceeds to strip Qu'tal of all his remaining titles and privileges.

Talks of the alliance go smoothly otherwise, and Horai leaves Tal'el one ally stronger.
