A small, fluffy multi-colored Vayron trotted down the frosty streets of Roenden. Their long ears were perked up as they walked, and a magnificent set of kitsune tails swept across the ground that the Vayron walked. Darkness had since fallen over the cold town, which meant that most people and Reoseans had retreated to the comfort of their homes. However, the chaser spotted two Vayrons that were still making their way down the street and began to approach them.

The two Vayrons happened to be rather large blue pullers with various scars and pieces of valuable gold jewelry. One was a duveteux tobiano male while the other was a friese tabby female. They looked surprised as the chaser approached them, their eyes bright and friendly.

“Hello! I have to say the town is looking rather dark tonight. I’m looking from some Reoseans to help me light up the town with lanterns and candles. Would you two be willing to help?” The chaser questioned confidently, leaving the two pullers looking rather stunned as if the Vayron had some nerve to even ask the question.

Alfadhirhaiti trotted through the town, gazing warily at the passersby, veiled in the darkness of the evening sun. This town was not the place she wanted to be on such a brisk evening, and yet here she was, forcing herself to pick up gifts for her mate for the upcoming season. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to shop for her, it was more that she knew how difficult her mate was to shop for in the first place.

On this already irritating evening, two figures caught her eye. “Of fucking course.” She snarled out as she caught the eye of Leviathan and Siren. Slowing her pace to keep their gaze as she prowled over the cobblestones, ignoring the surprised yelp of a chaser she pushed aside. She soon registered the figure of the smaller individual the two were speaking with.

An ornately marked chaser kitsune, their multiple tails swirling in a mesmerizing way as they spoke in a calm, almost singing voice. As if the chaser could feel Alfadhirhaiti’s eyes on them, they waved the large grey puller over. She sighed as she wandered across the road, pausing once to allow a cart to pass, before greeting them with a bowed head. “We meet again.” She muttered to Siren and Leviathan before looking down at the chaser.

“Oh? Do you all know each other? Fantastic! You can help!” The chaser beamed up at her. “It’s my goal to make this glum city a little brighter! I’d love your assistance with hanging these lanterns and candles around! With the holidays coming up soon, it’s how it should be, don’t you think?”

“I-” The chaser interrupted her before Alfadhirhaiti could finish.

“Precisely! So here. You three take these.” The chaser shoved a bundle of candle sticks, that seemed to appear from nowhere, at the three pullers. “Set them up around the town! When you’re done, come back to me.” Something in their eyes flickered. “Isn’t the fire gorgeous?” They mumbled as they turned to skip away, leaving the three pullers alone with the bundle of wax.

“Well… fantastic.” She muttered as she glared at the other two. “Shall we?”

“... Uhm… No.” Siren snorted, holding her head high to clearly show that she felt herself to be above this task. Leviathan rolled his eyes as he waved his tail dismissively.

“This town can be pitch black for-.” He began to say until he felt his tail collide with an object that then went clattering to the floor. Leviathan turned around to see the candle that the chaser had lit now on the ground right next to a very wooden house. The Vayron’s tail also had a slight glow to it, and he muttered to himself as he put his tail out on the snow. Meanwhile, his mate let out a snort of amusement as she watched the puller look at his slightly singed tail.

“It smells a little smokey.” Siren began to tease, until a bright glow caught her attention from the corner of her eye. The house that the candle had fallen next to had caught fire and small clouds of smoke were beginning to rise from the flames. “Well, that’s not ideal.”

“You idiots!” Alfadhirhaiti cried out as she watched the house soon become engulfed in flames. She looked around frantically, searching for any source of water that could assist in halting the growing fire. She spotted a trough and rushed to it, dragging it over to the fire and dumping it over the heat.

“Help me.” She spat out to the two blue pullers, who exchanged amused looks, before settling down to sit and watch the grey duve struggle with the fire. She rolled her eyes, figuring that once more, she’d have to deal with this herself, before a shocked voice spoke out behind the three.

“Good heavens!” The chaser cried out, a look of absolute horror on their small face. “You didn’t even go anywhere! How did this happen!” They looked from the two blue Reoseans to the grey one. Siren and Leviathan shrugged, keeping their look of innocence.

The chaser sighed as they flicked one of their multiple tails and the flames died down with a low hiss. “I can’t ever trust pullers to do my job.” They muttered in annoyance, eyes squinting as they snatched the candles from them. “I’ll do this myself. You don’t come near the fire again, please. I can’t put the whole town out.”
