Mild Violence

Fish Friend's role would be most prevalent in Galactic Superheroes, and especially Starship Genius, so what would they do during the Final Charge?

There are two possible outcomes and I can't tell which I prefer! Tried to write out a simple rundown of events. (A little rough, might refine later.)

Author's Notes

For context, this chapter begins during the final events of Starship Genius 10: Something Fishy.

Starship Genius' first introduction to Fish Friend

“THE GALAXY IS FOR FISH!" With a final exclamation, Big Fish Boss’ rally was brought to a close, and all the fish began to disperse. Ratboy Genius and the Summer Solstice Baby expressed their disgust, then promptly made their way out of the crowd. Swimming against the current of the fish, it wasn’t long until they were alone.

Or, so they thought. Unbeknownst to them, a Fisheater had noticed two fish on their own and quickly made his move.

Upon being approached, the pair, remembering what form they were in, immediately assured Mr. Fisheater that this was a huge misunderstanding. They weren't really fish, they were Ratboy Genius and Summer Solstice Baby! He knew them!

Mr. Fisheater congratulated them on the “good try”. After all, Ratboy Genius was his friend, he’d recognize him anywhere. And he had just spoken to Summer Solstice Baby. She looked nothing like her. Were they unique-looking fish? Sure, but it was all the same to him. So he moved in.

The two were frozen in fear. Ratboy tried to protect Solstice by getting in front of her, though it was all pointless. Being eaten the same way any other fish would, by someone they were supposed to be allied with... they could almost laugh at the irony.

But they didn’t have to. Before they could be hurt, a mysterious creature forced themselves between the two and their attacker, whose posture immediately shifted from confident to afraid. It seemed Mr. Fisheater knew exactly who this was and what their presence entailed. Ratboy and Solstice were baffled. Why didn’t they know?

The creature told the Fisheater to leave, that he’ll swim away now if he knows what’s good for him. With a nod and a frightened look, and to the pair's shock, he did.

Then, the creature turned around, asking the two if they were okay. The two said yes, then asked them who they were. They learned that this creature was called Fish Friend.

Fish Friend apologized for their struggle, but promised them that they wouldn’t have to worry for much longer. After Big Fish Boss’ plans were put into action, no one would bother them ever again. But, in the meantime, if they ever needed anything, Fish Friend advised the two to come to them, all the while looking at the two with eyes gentler than what seemed possible for such an intimidating figure. And then they bid them farewell, swimming off.

The two took a moment to compose themselves, and then looked at each other, with the same thought in their heads: This is a new factor to the Final Charge that they'll have to plan around.

When Ratboy Genius and Summer Solstice Baby returned to Starship Genius, their first course of action was to call everyone into the conference room, and then call the Galactic Superheroes. This new discovery greatly changes their plans - they don't have any time to waste.

Once everyone was present, Ratboy explained everything: While they were leaving the rally, they were targeted by a Fisheater, who was immediately scared off by a creature called Fish Friend. Fish Friend was strong, intimidating, but deeply caring towards fish. Worryingly, they seemed to be on Big Fish Boss' side.

The team agreed, this was a game changer. They absolutely could not allow Fish Friend to work alongside the Big Fish Boss. But what should they do about it?

After a long discussion, they decided they only really had one option.

Only I lied! They have two options, expanded on in the next two chapters.
