"You don't have a license for that," Snow Queen said.

The black-and-red eevee put eir paws on the controls. "It can't be that hard," ey said. "Jerry's letting me operate it, so long as I don't tell the cops, which I wouldn't do anyway."

Snow Queen snorted. "Maybe he shouldn't give the job to a demonic eevee."

Fufu glared at zir from the cockpit, eir leathery wings spread out. "Stereotyping!"

"What? You're chaotic."

The crane rumbled to life. Fufu ignored Snow Queen and carefully steered the giant claw above the arcade's skylight. Ey narrowed eir eyes, making sure it was positioned exactly right before hitting the button to lower it. The claw crashed through the skylight and sent shattered glass flying.

Snow Queen scrunched up zir face and quickly fled the scene.

"That was Jerry's fault," Fufu announced. "He should have opened the skylight. Anyway, I'm gonna scoop everything out now."

The claw scraped the roof as ey extracted it, holding some trash and a bunch of arcade machines. Fufu dumped them in the parking lot, setting off multiple car alarms, and went back to the skylight. "Hm," ey said to emself. "I can't get all the trash just through the skylight… oh well!"

The rest of the roof came off soon after.

Fufu was still diligently scooping when the police came. A flareon shook his head and walked over to the cockpit, knocking on the window. "Excuse me? You need to come with us."

"Oh hell no," said Fufu, and ey swung the claw through the wall and into the police cars.

No one could get into the crane's cockpit, and once Fufu discovered how to drive it, it seemed all hope was lost. It took an entire squad of police officers to stop em from driving the crane into the city square, and by the time they managed to melt the doors open, Fufu had escaped without a trace.

"How did you keep the crane going without you in it?" Snow Queen said as the two of them ran.

"I put it on autopilot," said Fufu.

"You mean you put a brick on the gas pedal?"

"Same thing!"

Snow Queen rolled zir eyes and glanced behind them. "What do you think Jerry thinks of all this?"

When questioned, Jerry said, "Well, it happens," and cut the ribbon on the grand opening of a second, identical arcade placed two blocks away from the old one. The whole incident had no tangible effect on anyone's lives, except that a warrant was put out for Fufu. Ey was never caught.
