Admire

Selgaire always admired Faroir.

The Summer Sidhe is one of the most, if not the highest ranked, assassin and hunter within the Court. Selgaire strives for perfection within the Court, and couldn’t help but feel a bit insignificant to Faroir’s talents and skills.

That’s why they fought so much in the beginning. Selgaire would never admit it to Faroir, but he was jealous of the latter’s capabilities. They want, more than anything, to surpass the other. 

Despite it, after getting to know Faroir and the person they are, Selgaire found themselves enjoying the other Summer Sidhe’s company, even though it was one-sided.

Faroir cares little for things outside of hunting and killing. He shows anger more than any other emotion. Yet Selgaire can’t help but be drawn towards them.

When the two of them overcome their differences to become something akin to friends, Selgaire found themselves rather pleased that they’re one of the few who Faroir keeps around. Of course, they know it’s because they’re a valuable asset to Faroir’s hunting party, and that Faroir doesn’t consider him a friend, but it’s enough for Selgaire.

“What are you daydreaming about? We have to get moving.”

Selgaire flashes a grin at Faroir, who looks at them with disdain.

“I’m coming, I’m coming. You wouldn’t leave without me, anyway.”

Faroir rolls their eyes, inclining with their head for Selgaire to follow them. And Selgaire happily does so.

Even though Faroir doesn’t consider him anything more than a hunting ally, Selgaire finds himself okay with how things are.

He’s content to stay beside the red skinned Sidhe.
