Changing ways

Before Tsavor became an anti-social and "evil" (partially green) hedgehog, he was more outgoing and mischievous. Being a bad boy with an obsession of being the best. He really wanted to be noticed by the world as some sort of legend, but didn't want to put any effort into actually trying to become one. In a way, he was just hoping someone to do the work for him while he gets the credit... He wasn't exactly a smart kid. However after getting in trouble with local authorities for petty crimes and "disturbing the peace", he was ordered to do some community service. It started off as simple things like cleaning government-owned properties including the local animal shelter and parks. Then it turned to assisting in bigger facilities due to behavioral complaints. Tsavor was well watched by the authorities during his service.

On a particular day, Tsavor was brought in the office to discuss some things. The corrections officer gave him an extreme choice: He could continue what he's doing over the course of a couple weeks to finish his time, or he could volunteer to be part of some scientific research and have his bad record cleaned then and there. Tsavor thought about for a second, knowing there's gotta be some kind of catch to it. But the officer explained that there's been a possible breakthrough in their biological projects and they need various volunteers to participate, so that they may benefit the future of medical care. Its at a place called "Lorenzo's scientific institution and research" (LSIAR for short) Tsavor rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed to it, hoping it'd be an in-and-out kinda deal. The officer gave him a stack of paperwork and sent him on his way.

It took Tsavor an hour or two to get there. He opened the door and could smell a strong scent. He couldn't piece together what it was, but it was weird... As he looked around, doctors and patients were on about their business. Filling out forms, waiting in seats, casually talking to others, etc. Nothing big. Tsavor was grumpy to be here, but he couldn't back out now . He walked up to reception and was greeted by a nurse. "Is this the.. 'Lorenzo's scientific institution and research' place? I'm here as a volunteer for-." Tsavor asked and got interrupted, "Oh yes!" she delightedly exclaimed. "You must be the one from the county! Please take a seat! I'll call down someone to escort you shortly!" Tsavor nodded to the receptionist, despite her odd behavior and went to take a seat. However he quickly got bored, impatiently waiting around. He picked up a magazine to try and entertain himself while he was here, as well as a way to distract himself from the weird smell that seemed to still linger around. He mainly looked at the pictures, as there were too many "big words" that he really didn't care to read in its entirety. Though Tsavor skipped most of the article, he was able to make out what the magazine was advertising to its viewers. It basically explained a "connection" and a "fusion process" between a person's mind, particularly mobians and certain magical artifacts. The LSIAR wishes to use such connections to further heal or restore a person's mental state to which is considered healthy. Properties from mentioned artifacts can effectively cure brain illnesses as well, like tumors and such. How interesting.. Tsavor eventually got bored of the science lesson and put it away to take a nap while he waits.

He actually began to dream during his slumber. It was mainly blank, but Tsavor was flying in space looking down on Earth. Everything was calm until he turned to face the moon. There was a blurry, grey colored figure standing out on top of it. Tsavor decided to check it out by "swimming" towards it, but as he got closer, a ringing sound was getting increasingly louder. It quickly got too loud, and he wanted to back off, but the figure teleported itself closer so the ringing would be ear-piercing. The noise was so bad that Tsavor awoke in distress. When he opened his eyes, there was a grey fox staring at him intensely with his arms behind his back. "Bad dream?" he questioned. Tsavor was just in a bit of shock so he confused up his words. "Y-Yeah, sure- Is there any help, I can help you with??" There was a quiet pause between the two. "You wish to Volunteer for Dr. Lorenzo?" the fox asked. "Uhh- yeah..." Tsavor got up from his seat. "I'm here ordered by the local county. Don't think too much of it." "Follow me." the fox instructed. Tsavor followed the mysterious canine down many halls and corridors. Tsavor tried to make casual conversation while on their way, but his instructor stayed quiet, without a reaction or response. They eventually came to an elevator, far back and on the lowest floor of the building. As odd as it was, Tsavor moved forward. He kept his mindset to "This is will be all over soon and I'll get to go home scot free!" As they were descending in the elevator, He continued to attempt conversation, about his "many" accomplishments throughout his life. Usually the bad stuff he got away with as a kid and so forth. The fox still had no reaction or response. Annoyed, Tsavor exclaimed; "Can I at least know your name?! You're not making this easy... or fun, really." The fox turned to him slowly, almost creepily in a way. "Dr. Enigma." he said and turned away. "Doctor.. En-eh-gma? Oh Enigma! gotcha.."

When they finally arrived at their destination. the elevator door opened to reveal a futuristic colored laboratory. there were workers in hazmat suits and advanced machinery everywhere. "Woahhh.. The doc isnt skimpin' is he?" Tsavor said. "Proceed this way." Dr. Enigma commanded. Once again, they went down more hallways. But this time it consisted of the rooms of the mentally distressed patients, yelling, laughing, banging on doors, etc. This concerned Tsavor greatly but he just figured this place is just trying to cure them, like the magazine described. Eventually they came to a stop at a door with a large horizontal window beside it. It looked to be some sort of office or maybe a lounge. Dr. Enigma knocked on the door and entered. There was a man waiting in an office chair. Tsavor went in and took a seat in front of the gentlemen's desk, while Dr. Enigma left the area. There was a long awkward silence. "Uhm.." Tsavor mumbled. "I'm here fo-" "Of course you are!" the man interrupted. "Dr. Lorenzo in the flesh! here to make your life a big difference through the power of technology and science with a sprinkle of magic!" Tsavor didn't know how to react to Dr. Lorenzo's happily weird greeting.

"Before we start off on the "fun stuff", might I ask a few questions to qualify you as a certified volunteer AND test subject of mine??" Tsavor felt like he should excuse himself reluctantly agreed knowing that he'd rather be here than somewhere else picking up shit. Dr. Lorenzo began asking his questions. "How would you describe your mental state?" "What do you wish to gain from these projects?" "Are you aware there is great sacrifice in these experiments?" and rest continues on. When the questions were over, Dr. Lorenzo proceeded to assign Tsavor to "Project S.H.A.R.D" and told him that he will not be using his real name anymore, and instead he'll be using an identification code. #6SHD to be specific. Dr. Lorenzo also advised about LSIAR's strict policy. He mainly reviewed the simple stuff like, be polite to staff and other patients, don't take medications you're not supposed to, don't interfere with the other Projects, etc. Tsavor paid little attention to the rules and merely looked like he was. "and to conclude this IMPORTANT list of protocols, you are required to wear this." Dr. Lorenzo rummaged through his desk drawers and pulled out a patient's gown and a pair of slippers. "This is what you'll be required to wear during your time here, As it helps reduce distractions and makes it easier for us to.. Identify your assigned project." Tsavor looked at the attire with a look of disgust, looking offended by the option. "Are you serious?" He asks. Dr. Lorenzo nodded. "Of course! We arent running a fashion show! Now hurry up now i dont got all day!" Tsavor hesitantly took the clothes and changed his outfit, though he'll miss his previous attire. Lastly, Dr. Lorenzo assigned him a room to rest in. He scribbled the directions on a post-it note and sent Tsavor on his way. The hedgehog was surprised he was actually able to find the correct room without any trouble. It looked really basic. a Simple bed, nightstand, and sink. It was quite small too. Granted, he wasn't expecting all of this, but it just seemed reall to be in. Tsavor entered the room and looked around. "They could of just told me they were putting me in Jail with a crazy doctor..." he mumbled to himself. Tsavor didn't know what to do next so he started waiting for something to happen. Like a Name call or anything really. He eventually gave up and went to sleep.

The Next day, Tsavor was given a set schedule for Project S.H.A.R.D test subjects. Which he was expected to follow. Basically, in the mornings they were inspected for any odd/unusual "anomalies". If everything looked good, they'd be sent back to their living quarters area where they could walk around, interact with other Project members, and excersise. Then they had lunch at noon in your average cafeteria. After that they had to wait for their turn of "experimentation" to begin, via a code call. It was very standard and simple. Doctors and scientists were mainly in charge of the entire process since Dr. Lorenzo can't be everywhere at once to personally review what happens. The Laboratory Tsavor was held in really did feel like some weird prison than an institution to better one's health. He had started to experience some slight anxiety since he met the doctor in charge, but he kept up the tough guy act. The other test subjects involved in Project S.H.A.R.D also creeped Tsavor out a bit, as they all just seemed depressed and almost dead inside like walking zombies. He tried befriending them, but either got hissed at or ignored entirely. Something was not right.. "This is ridiculous, why didnt they tell me about this!?" he thought to himself. "Oh wait... it was probably in the papers that the officer gave me... damn it." When #6SHD was finally called to one of many specific experimentation rooms, He was just excited to get away from the living quarters area. Tsavor entered the room to find a chair surrounded by all sorts of odd machinery. There was a few human scientists behind a large glass window ready to take notes. Tsavor awkwardly waved to them and propped himself in the seat. "Will this hurt?" he asked but got no response. The chair automatically cuffed Tsavor, so his movement was restricted. He immediately tried to free himself, but the cuffs were quite tight. Some machinery from above started to activate. It first scanned Tsavor multiple times from plenty of angles, then took of a large sample of his blood via a needle in his arm. Though very uncomfortable, Tsavor thought his first experimentation session wasn't so bad. Soon the machinery retracted back into the ceiling and a television Screen was lowered down in front of him. It activated a short introduction of what Dr. Lorenzo himself specifically plans to do with the S.H.A.R.D. test subjects. "Hello. #6SHD. and thank you for volunteering for our cause. We hope you can endure of what's to come, as this session will only get more difficult. In this study of Project S.H.A.R.D, we wish too fuse your mind to a specific powerful crystal unearthed by our supporters. You know the essentially powerful gemstones like the Chaos Emeralds and Psychic Pearls, Yes? We are using such jewels to see if there is a possible cure for previously uncurable illnesses. In order to do this, we will essentially fuse your mind with one of these stones, but first we will conduct multiple test sessions to make sure your body is able to handle such power. Thank you for your understanding, participation and listening." The screen was then lifted back up and Tsavor's bindings were released. This type of process was continued for a few days, but it wasn't too long until the real pain began.
