They just stared at me-

Actually, less at me and more at Lucifer’s watch, which made it more horrifying. The chain that connected the drawn ring and the pocket watch itself wrapped around my hand, I had no intention of letting it go, but they just stared at me. Gods- I didn’t even mean to bring it to the hearing, I just got caught in the moment and forgot. They weren’t usually this quiet, it was almost suffocating, strangling- the silence, the tenseness, the near violent quietness. There was chatter around us but it was all tuned out. I could feel my blood running, I could see the clouds drifting- it felt like an eternity, standing by the granite round table, the meeting was about to begin but we both just stood there, petrified like statues.

Me, wanting to get away- as soon as I can.

They, wanting the pocket watch.
