Quest 1.1: The Skeleton Of Thalminir

Summary: It was not destined for him to settle down because of his past and rune he was hiding behind the bandage. So he was constantly travelling, living all these little adventures and this was one of them. He did not think he would manage to find a secret tunnel passage nor it even existed – it seemed impossible no one found it yet and many were looking. He did not care about reward, it was the feeling it was him who found it and no one else. He could not help and was still thinking, how come no one foud it yet? How could it be hidden for so long? But there it was, surrounded by rocks, overgrown grass and ruins, remains of the castle. It seemed like a spell to him which decided to let him in, be the one of few (if not only), who could invite themselves here.

He carefully cleaned whatever was standing in his path to the old wooden door and then tried to open it – it was almost like the door opened itself for him. Not even slight creaking and the darkness stretched out before his eyes. It was not possible to see where it goes and where it ends – he will need a light source if he wants to examine it further. One could have feeling the moment they step in, this place will not let them out. And the longer Darcy was staring down into the darkness, the stronger this feeling was.

But the curiosity and enthusiasm were stronger. What is down there? Where it leads? Darcy really wanted to know the answer and he was not someone who would let himself scare easily. On his many journeys there were many obstacles he had to overcome, because terrain could be pretty hostile. And whatever this tunnel had to offer, he was ready for it.

Summary: All old places had their sounds – old creaking, dripping, clicking...And Darcy as someone who was familiar with them knew it pretty well. Walking down the narrow corridor with the merchant following him, he did not pay them much attention. Except occasional sounds coming from nowhere, so far there was not much to see. It was dark even with the best lantern they could get and could not see much in the front. Darcy knew these types of lantern and other times they were like little blue suns. Now it was like this place was consuming their light.

The merchant had a short legs so he had a trouble to keep up with Darcy, even more when he was the one who carried all the supplies. He insisted on it, saying Darcy needed to be ready if something decides to attack them down here and all the weight would just slow him down. After a quite long quiet walking the merchant suddently stopped and with fear in his eyes looked around. ,,D-did you hear it? It sounded like a long creaking.“

Even though how dark this place was, after long walking in silence, one stopped paying attention to their surrouding so much as before. In his thoughts, Darcy completely missed the sounds. He had to admit creaking in this place was quite unnusual, as the only thing so far around here were just old stone walls and pieces from them on the ground.

,,No,“ Darcy answered shortly and listened carefully, the merchant silently followed his example to hear if it happens again. And in a fact, it did, but this time it scared even Darcy.

It was not just a single long creak which itself in a place like this would be little concerning, but the sounds which came after.

Creaaak.

And then.

Bang!

Lound and clear, the merchant frightened jumped behind Darcy, who now watched their surrouding with complete attention.

,,W-hat was that?!“ keeping his voice down, the merchant was shaking from fear.

,,...“ Darcy really did not know what to anwer and after same silence he simply said: ,,Lets get moving,“ it was no use staying here, waiting for someone or something to jump on them from the darkness. He was unnusually quiet – he would like to share his concerns with the merchant, but his company was already scared enough.
