Quest 1.2: The Festival

Collecting shells and other trinkets sounded like a task that pups would enjoy the most and also simple enough for them. But as they say, sometimes it is the little things that can brighten up the day. Darcy was surprised how much enjoyed exploring the beach and collecting shining rocks. Maybe it was because of how difficult travelling sometimes could be – cruel moutains, hot deserts and dangerous waters. This place was so far friendly and peaceful, shining with colors. After a long time walking through dry lands, it was a refreshing change. He could easily find himself spending a few days here. Maybe even a week. He did not see a reason why not.

He added another shell to the pile in the bag of collected trinkets and stopped for a moment to enjoy the warmth of the sun mixing together with breeze wind. He wanted to just lie down for some time and do nothing. But first to finish the task.  The pile was getting bigger a bigger – it was a good thing he borrowed the bag from one of the faes, otherwise it would took him a lot of time to bring all the stuff he found to them. Of course with all the travelling, he used to have his own bag, but it got damaged and lost some of his supplies. Maybe he will ask to keep this one bag as a reward they promised him.

For a moment he wondered if Dante would enjoy this activity as well...then he decided rather not to think about it.

The bag was getting full so he closed it, threw it around his shoulders and went back to Faes. He did not realize how far he went until now, but it was easy to lost track of distance in place like this after all.

Summary: He was a great swimmer. On his journeys he was forced to swim many times to get across rivers and sea, but he could not tell he had to hold his breath or ignore water in his eyes. Especially in a salt water diving was more diffucilt, but again, it was Darcy we were talking about. It was a not big enough obstactle for him to have refuse this request. Or a job, better to say it. For collecting all kind of shining stuff, the Faes told him he could keep a bag as a reward – a significant equipment of every traveller. It definitely was a good deal for him before.

Without much thinking about it, he took a deep breath and jumped into the water. He was not too worried about drowning, the distance was short enough to quickly swim to the surface. It was little hard for him to keep his eyes open, the salt water was not really anything pleasant. He did not see much where he was going until something touched him and it forced Darcy to open his eyes. First thing he saw was a big, purple fish just staring at him and then quickly swimming away. He managed to keep his eyes open and look around. It was a really beautiful sign – corals were maybe the most favorite home for lot of fish and this one was full of them as well. Seeing Darcy, they went to hide, but soon started to swimming all around again. Looking at all this beauty, the canine forgot about the water in his eyes and took a time to enjoy it until he was short of breath.

Swimming back, it was time to focus on his task. The faes were waiting and he could enjoy his time here after delivering a sea grass.
