Furthermore, and possibly more worrying for them all right now, was the shadow that had fallen upon the land where the monster had been slain. She had not seen it for herself, yet, but she had heard the rumours. People disappearing in there, and horrifyingly few who came out far from where they had entered. She didn't know what type of reckless behaviour invited such idiots to attempt to discover the secrets it held, but she was damned sure she wasn't stupid enough to enter. For while politics rarely held her interest, the idiocy of others was not only a threat to themselves but to others instead. She didn't not have the power to stop a King from ordering a war, but if there was anything she had the authority and power to do, it was stopping someone from travelling there to see what would happen. There was no reason to risk their life for the unknown. As her magic had once been unknown, wild and terrifying, so was this darkness that had spread. And like her own magic, this had to be studied as well to confirm that it was dangerous. And if anything, it'd allow soldiers to guard the space and prevent people from entering due to dreams of discovering what was within the darkness.
