ELOUAN (ANATHEMA)

Elouan is a young, yet highly accomplished mage and sergeant major-in-training in the King’s Guard under the King's 1st Infantry Regiment “Royal Hounds RG”.  Ambitious, dutiful and careful in her work. Her voids make her able to store anything with a certain size within, but comes at a great cost.

Recent events has caused her void's power to increase significantly, now seemingly cracking and gathering a bit of a mind of its own...

Elouan's birth was no surprise to her family, rather, it was almost expected for her parents to continue the long line of mages in the family. Of course, as most births, hers was special even if it was an expectation. It was celebrated, just like any other had been in her family. And her upbringing would be like the ones before her - straight to the Order, to become a powerful mage and aid the nation in the best way possible.

Being born into a noble family had its benefits, and so from a young age she was not only expected to go on a certain path, but was ensured the best of tutors and teachers in order to aid her. However, while being a noble had lots of benefits, the manifestation of her powers wasn't expected - at least not the way they worked. At four years old, the void started appearing on her chest, right below the sternum. When her powers first started manifesting, the first thing her family - and the physicians - noticed was how tired she suddenly seemed to be. She was always tired and sick, and it seemed no matter how much food she got it didn't help. It wasn't often magic turned against one self, but it was the only explanation the physicians could come with - the void seemed to spend her energy in order to exist, which meant she was often left sick and tired. As tests were made to determine how bad it was, they figured lots of rest with frequent eating breaks was the best way to go for her. As tests were ran, they also figured the use for her void seemed to be some sort of storage - the ability to store anything within a decent size within and summon it at will. However, the more she stored within, the more tired she was as well, so for most of her youth, she was advised against using her powers.

As a result of her power, as well as growing up in an upper class environment, she spent much of her youth isolated from others outside of her education. Any socialising was done in school, and even so, Elouan focused her energy on studies - the more time she spent with others, the more energy she spent, which would possibly leave her sick for days. As she got older, she got a better handle on keeping energised, but had gotten used to focusing on her studies and getting rest whenever possible.

Around 16 years of age, she was advised to participate in some of the extra curricular. In an attempt to keep in shape, and getting a better hold on her body and ways to preserve energy while still staying active, she joined martial arts. Being older, her power still used a lot of energy, but she'd also gotten a better hang of it, and as such didn't get as sick as often and could focus more on getting more food for energy. Doing martial arts, her teacher advised her to try out for the military as well - her fighting skills turned out better than she'd anticipated, and joining the military rather than being stuck inside doing paper-work was something that intrigued Elouan a lot.

Getting a goal for what she wanted to do, her drive to better herself rose as well. While being tired and hungry was still something she had to deal with on the daily, getting fit and figuring out good routines proved to help her daily routines and figuring out a way to keep on top of things. At 18 she graduated as one of the best in her class, and went straight to the military. While her powers still controlled her energy to some degree, through training, getting fit and figuring out good routines, she managed to live a life like most others. While joining the military had become a strong goal for her, partly from the encouragement of a teacher and partly for the unique opportunities it promised rather than being a desk jockey, her parents hadn't been thrilled with the idea. And though many hours were spent trying to convince her parents why it was a good idea, and something she found intriguing, they never fully came to accept it but still tried to encourage her to do her best. She'd been raised to be respectful of others, and so, they showed her the same courtesy and tried their best to support her without ever fully understanding her perspective.

Upon joining the military, it felt as though she took a step back in her health. The new change of pace, the different environment and routines proved difficult to get used to at first but she was nothing if not determined. And though it took her a couple of months to get on top of things again, she was happy to find a new routine and be able to stay within the military - the King's Guard to be exact. One thing she suddenly experienced, which almost came as a shock to her, was how tight knit the military was. She'd not been the social type in school, and while it was all about their training and duties, the community the privates shared was something way different from what she was used to. In an attempt at not appearing weak, for she did not want to reveal how quickly she got tired if her routines were broken or her access to food changed too much, she kept a happy attitude. While it was rather forced in the beginning, through a drive to do her best and the excitement of finally doing something she found interesting and amazing, it slowly seemed to change into genuine happiness and encouragement. She'd always been raised to treat others with respect, and while she was not necessarily the strongest fighter, her positive attitude and drive to help out to get tasks done quickly made her well liked, even if she spent most her freetime resting and eating.

Nearly nine years passing from her entry into the military and until now, Elouan has surprised her Captain many times. Whether through hard work and dedication, or as someone who keeps morale high and makes sure her training buddies do the best they can, Elouan has found her place within the King's Guard and risen through the ranks. A few years in, she got the opportunity to become a chevalier - forging a close bond with her mount (lovingly called Cillian). Additionally, the rank allows her to preserve her energy more than if she was a soldier on foot - and she'd never excelled at being an archer as much as being a swordsman.

At 27 years of age, she built up the courage to directly ask Captain Shepherd, to give her a chance as a Sergeant Major in training - knowing she was too young and experienced to be one fully but also had proven many times to be a valuable and trustworthy asset to the Regiment. Much to her surprise, though she'd pep-talked herself many times for this, he agreed to give her the chance. Though it was with a feeling of "yeah right, try it out", Elouan took the new rank to heart and has worked hard ever since to prove it was the right decision - and prove she is worthy of carrying the rank with pride. Elouan, so far, has not taken much of a stance about wild and hidden mages. She's a soldier, she has a duty to uphold, but she isn't cruel. Yet, it seems fate has it out for her. It's still unknown who her assailant were, but she was attacked late at night while doing some patrolling. Whether this be by a random non-mage or not, it's still impossible to deny, that Miriam's raise to power has caused a shift in the dynamic of Ivras.
A meeting with the powerful mage Aleister has left Elouan scarred and less willing to be a first-mover. More careful than before, this traumatic meeting has caused irreversible damage to Elouans eye, and the trauma caused a change in her magic as well. Things are changing, rapidly.
