"Come on!"

The young apprentices cry echoed throughout the forest as the three carefully picked their way to the spot they were going to start investigating. Spottedpaw has at this point run ahead a back a few times- Redfeather calling her back each time.

Dewpetal couldn't help but give a small grin at the young she-cats energy. She felt like this is how her sister would have been at apprentice age had she…

Well.

Granted, Spottedpaw's energy wasn't just excitement. Her family was a part of the missing cats, and that was the whole reason the apprentice came up to Redfeather and Dewpetal when they were planning the patrol and insisted she come with.

"Spottedpaw, please, come back. We don't you vanishing too."

Redfeather sounded almost exasperated at this point, her patience starting to wear thin as her worry for the apprentice running ahead each time grew.

The spotted she-cat tail dropped a bit as she joined back with the slower cats as they continued on.

"I know I just- I need to find them!!"

Her voice was filled with concern and worry. Dewpetal felt for her.

"I am too Spottedpaw…but there's only three of us and we don't need to add to the count of missing clanmates."

Dewpetal chimed in at this point.

"We could go a bit faster..I mean we are going slow and..yeah…"

She trailed off at the end, her confidence falling quickly. Spottedpaws grin of excited though brought it back up again though.

"See! Even Dewpetal thinks we should go faster! Come on!"

Redfeather sighed before smilling as well and picking up her pace.

"Alright. Our clan mates need us after all."

The journey continued on at a faster and steady pace as the cats traveled in silence for a bit. Dewpetal used that silence to look around, eyes taking in the sites of the territory outside of the borders. She usually doesn't go outside of the borders…considering we'll last time. Last time was pretty terrifying if she was being honest.

So much was happening with the rogues and mysterious ghosts…well it made her wary for a long time in stepping outside of the borders.

Her classmates needed her though. And that was enough to push her out again.

"So….Dewpetal do you have siblings? You always keep to yourself and I've never seen any cat that really looks like you!"

Spottedpaw'd voice cut through the silence like butter. Seems like the she-cat really couldn't keep silent for long.

Not that that's really a bad thing.

"My sister and parents…they…they died when I was just a kit…"

Dewpetal's soft voice echoed throughout the woods.

"Long before you were born…there was a really back bought of greencough that ravaged the clans."

"I remember that."

Redfeather chimed in quietly, looking at the she-cat with sad eyes.

"Your sister was Lavendarkit, I remember how worried we were you were going fall ill and join her too."

Dewpetal nodded. It was a long time past, but she still feels grief that her sister cannot join her in warriorhood, nor did her parents see her become a warrior.

The warrior took a glance at Spottedpaw, and felt panic shoot through her at the apprentices crestfallen face.

"That doesn't mean we won't find your family Spottedpaw!"

Dewpetals voice rose for the first time in this patrol as she rushed to comfort the she-cat.

Redfeather nodded.

"We will find them, and whoever took them will get what's coming towards them."

Spottedpaw stopped and turned to look at the two she-cats, searching their faces. Whatever she found satisfied her, because she gave a grin and nodded before bounding forward again.

"Yeah!"
