D-2 Enchanted

Skirting the outside of the dancefloor, Love had just finished chasing down a particularly evasive plate of his favorite finger sandwiches to snack on. Geez, one might think that waiter was on a mission to visit every noble but him at tonight's event. It wasn't as if he could rush too quickly after them either. The heels were no problem, use to the things he thought more of as an unassuming weapon than footwear; it was needing to act properly, dressed up as his family's daughter. It bored him to no end. The pretty words, the flashy attire, empty compliments with other niceties. He hated how this side of life masked their true selves, and that it was necessary for him to act just like them else his family be damned.

Looking over the crowd, a warm caress had him turning around. Something frivolous that'd normally have him angry, ended with merely a confused tilt of the head instead when a familiar smile greeted him. A little neater than he was use to, but Thief knew how to dress up without being gaudy to show off wealth. Their compliments were still a bit sappy, something Love didn't think he'd get tired of. "I would be delighted, sir."

Taking hold of Thief's hand, he didn't know he'd ever want a banquet night to last forever. Twirling through the middle of the floor for the first time, it was like books described, the world around just the two of them fading. On equal footing, it was nice to have a companion that matched his grace, and could keep up with the subtle shifts in tempo he caused to test their skills. He'd often tire most out so they wouldn't desire a second round. It was a pity most nobles lacked stamina. For them.

The ending inevitable however, he was curtsying to his partner sooner than he liked. "Won't you join me on the balcony for a rest? I fear I'm the one that ended up enchanted, it'd be such a pity to part with such a gentleman already."
