Snuggled within his pile of stuffed animals lay Corvus. Sunlight softly filtered through the curtains of his window as wind ruffled them. Even with the disruption the delusions had caused, it was a beautiful quiet day to relax.

…Or so he thought.

Merengue busted through his door with a yell!

“Corvus!! Let’s go have a scary movie marathon!!”

He jumped sending his mountain of plushies in every which way direction. Lace hissed in alarm itself as it awoke to the interruption of sleep.

“Merengue! I WAS SLEEPING!” He growled at the Dream.

His tails puffed with irritation as he saw two other dreams beside her. Retro waved without looking up, scrolling through his phone; the other Yumenari he didn’t know.

Before she could respond to his previous statement, Corvus continued to talk. “How’d you three even get in here? And who are you?”

She grinned. “The front door was unlocked so I just let us in! And this is Arley! They’re my friend!”

Corvus clicked his tongue in annoyance as his tails whipped around.

“Get out.”

Arley at least started to leave before Merengue skidded in front of them blocking their exit.

“Absolutely NOT! We are not leaving until you watch at least one movie with us!”

A soft voice spoke up. “Merengue, if he wants us to leave we should…”

Retro responded to them, his own voice deadpan. “We can’t. Merengue broke her tape player.”

Corvus looked at the Yumenari in question and waited.

“Oh well, uhhhhh yeah. That is true. I was trying to watch Super Mecha Magical-kun V when it exploded.”

“It EXPLODED?”

“Yeah! With my tape INSIDE! It was completely unfair! Truly a reason to mourn! I’m still upset about it! I need this movie marathon please!”

She started crying and holding onto him, despite Lace’s hissing and spitting protest.

“Alright alright! Just let go! You’re making Lace upset.”

She indeed let go before trying unsuccessfully to pet the cloud pet.

Corvus looked at Retro and noticed that their own cloud pet was currently not with them.

“Oi Retro, where’s Digi?”

“Hedae’s taking care of him right now. Might regret it later but oh well.”

Corvus nodded.

While Hedae was… weird, he was extremely reliable. If he said he was going to do something it did get done, albeit in interestingly ways…

“Well, let’s get this movie thing started.” He sighed and mentally added, ‘sooner we start, sooner it’s done…’

Merengue grinned and leaped downstairs to his living room, with the rest of them following.

Lace snorted at them all leaving, giving a purr as Corvus deposited the cloud pet into its nest.

It was the middle of the second movie, when Corvus began to notice something… strange.

Miasma was seeping into the room from the open window nearby.

It wasn’t enough to hurt the dreams within, but it was certainly more than the normal amount of miasma.

He could sense a presence nearby as the movie dragged on.

Seeing movement out of the corner of his eye, he sighed seeing yet another unwelcome guest, Cordealian.

He glared at them though they only waved, a smile upon their face.

This surely wouldn’t end well. Cordi was notorious for NOT watching the end of movies, any movie really but it was especially true of horror movies…

He kept a close eye on the delusion, who was behaving for now…

After a while, he snapped awake to a scream from one of the Dreams, he looked around but saw nothing out of the ordinary.

The dreams certainly saw something though, the three of them bolted out of Corvus’ house.

He heard a snickering from the window before Cordi spoke.

“I thought you might want those guests gone. You did say ONE movie after all.”

“Cordi! What did you make them see?”

“Just the ghost. You know from the movie!” Was their reply followed by a sweet, innocent sounding giggle.

“Cordi, that’s kinda mean. You could’ve hurt them.”

The Delusion climbed in through the window, chewing on some uneaten popcorn.

“They were bothering you. I fixed it. ‘Sides, I want you all to myself.”

The sudden and matter of fact way those words came from the Delusion made Corvus blush and he was glad that his mask covered it.

“You… you’re such a troublemaker!”

Cordi laughed at his attempt at an insult before stopping at looking at the VHS player.

“Is that supposed to be smoking?”

“What? No.” He looked at the device, which was indeed smoking, bits of film sticking out it.

“Ugggh. Looks like Merengue’s kill count is up to two then….” Corvus unplugged the poor device, putting it out of its misery.

The two of them stared at the device before erupting into laughter over the strangeness of the situation.

“Thank you, Cordi.”

“Oh, for what?”

They said that, but took no time to wrap themselves around Corvus into a hug, looking up at him with curious eyes.

“For giving me a laugh, I really needed it.”

Cordi smiled and snuggled into the other Yumenari as he stroked their hair.

“Anytime. Just need to ask.”
