Story Quest 7 - Joker's Wild
Jun has received intel that one of your own has been attacked! The Trinity inform you that the Jokers who attacked before are now targeting another senshi! It seems they’ve located one in Australia and have drawn her out, but to what purpose, they’re not sure just yet. She appears to be the same one encountered by a small group during an initial recon mission!
When the call came in that one of her fellow senshi was in distress and needed help, Onyxraven naturally was more than willing to go and help. That is, until she found out exactly where this senshi was located.
She nearly gagged on the hot air as she materialized in the concert hall where it was all going down. Very often in her life she'd wondered why she lived in a country where the air hurt her face for half the year. Given that the alternative were places like Australia--where she was now--where large chunks of the animal populace were ridiculously deadly, she'd take the cold air over that hands down. Besides, she didn't really like the heat anyway.
And yet here she was in a country where the wildlife was out to kill you and the heat made her want to puke because some senshi decided to bite off more than she could chew.
Great. Just great.
On the upside of things, it didn't take long to find her and the whacked out enemy she was fighting. Her senshi instincts warred with her personal sense of humor. On the one hand, she wanted to jump in right away and help, but on the other, she wanted to take in the utter ridiculousness of the scenario in front of her.
The enemy appeared to be some kind of senshi as she sported the same kind of collar that Raven and the distressed senshi did, but she had these ridiculous spikes coming out of her legs as well as this great honking snake tail. Were the situation not so dire, Onyxraven might have given in to her humor and laughed.
Might as well get to work.
"Battle Cry!" she shouted, jumping down to join the fight.
"Who're you?" the aqua haired senshi asked, startled.
"Hey, I'm SailorOnyxraven. We heard you were in trouble, so I came to help you."
"We?"
Raven waved her hand dismissively. "Long story, but there's lots of senshi out there."
"Look, thanks, but I prefer to work alone."
Raven looked at the enemy. "Yeah, and how's that going for you so far? Personally, I'd rather be somewhere less...hot, but I'm here, so why don't we deal with that circus freak and get you somewhere safe?"
The other senshi hesiteated a moment before nodding. "I'm Sailor Lapis Lazuli Mermaid, by the way."
"That's quite the mouthful," Raven commented.
"You two talk too much!" the enemy snarled. "Petrification Impact!" Her hands glowed green and she touched the floor. Everything in front of her slowly started to turn to stone.
With a yelp, Raven jumped out of the way. "Razor Wings!" she shouted, hoping that the dark blue, vaguely feather shaped blasts of energy would disrupt the petrification.
No such luck. The enemy stood up and locked eyes with her. "Debilitating Snare!"
Raven found herself unable to move no matter how hard she struggled.
"You listen to me, you little insect. I'm Sailor Bastnasite Basilisk and you are no match for me." As she spoke, another senshi materialized beside her. Smirking, she walked around Raven. When she came back into view, she had Lapis Lazuli Mermaid in tow. "We have what we came for. You can go crawl back under your rock. You're not even worth the effort," Basilisk sneered.
When they vanished, Raven regained the ability to move. She stood there, staring at the spot where they'd been standing. "Well, that was a colossal failure," she moaned. "How am I going to explain this one?"
