Beats offered to help Emi respond to slander. And the response is a whole rap!

The crowd murmured outside. Beats’ knees were weak and her arms were heavy. This was the moment. Emi’s pride was on the line. She ran the lines over and over and over again. There was no messing this up. She adjusted her hood one final time before stepping out onto the stage.

She skated slowly back and forth, not even facing the crowd as the hordes of Bunbat children went silent. The only sound was the skidding of her rollerblades along the stage as she skidded to a stop. A turntable waiting for her, her father’s magic running through her little paws, and a bounce to her head. The mike felt good in her paw as she finally stood atop the turntable pedestal.

Every single star coin and solar that went into this setup was worth it. It was time to make her debut. For Emi. For fairness. Do not put Parcelrumpus down. Only boost Emi up. These were her motivations and her rules and even if she bungled them slightly, she would stick as close to that line as possible. No more hesitation. Up came the mike and down went her paw. A small adjustment of the record started the beat. There was no hesitation as Beats sang.

"Hello, everyone, I’ve come to sing
About the verbal assault on Lady Scarletwing.
Yes, a review written with dubious intent
About a particularly messy cake incident."

She scratched the record as the beat changed.

"In a race in which you have to choose
You attempt to make your decision through the news.
And what do you spy as the hottest take?
A cultured young lady messily enjoying cake!"

The record rotated back around as Beats shifted the song to the next verse.

"This may imply that she’s one of the uncultured kind.
But let’s kick that thought from your mind.
For if this is her at her least refined
Then she’s the most cultured Bunbat you’ll ever find"

"Because it’s not just about how you eat your food
Even more important is your attitude
And while in her appearance she takes pride.
What matters more is what she’s like inside."

The massive screen behind Beats lit up, playing various Emi clips. Various words are uttered to the beat of the music, but the clips change angles as each and every minuscule gesture was clearly poised and, more importantly, cultured.

"Because beneath all of the pomp and frills,
Emi’s got insanely good social skills.
The respect of others she does earn
A pinnacle of values from which we should learn."

Beats stopped singing, skating down to the front of the stage itself. She twirled the microphone in-between her paws, never losing the music of the rhythm.

"I hope you are free to groove awhile.
You’ll be soothed and swayed by Beats Freestyle!
I’m gonna continue to talk about my good friend.
Emilenne Scarletwing whose Bunbat pride knows no end."

At the end of this verse, the stage begun to shudder. Beats, used to the motions and the rhythms of performing, did not falter a single second. In fact, she continued her song.

"Emi’s got pride, Emi’s got charm.
No silly story’s gonna do her harm.
She may have made an eating mistake.
But it wasn’t this one- this photo’s fake."

The stage opened behind the small Bunbat as tiered platforms rise up and up.

"But that’s a fact that doesn’t matter
Emi’s unfazed by a little splatter.
If even this slander was more accurate
Emilienne’s fit is still immaculate."

One tier. Two tiers. Three tiers. And on top stood Emi, decked out in her fancy little poet outfit. She looked like a proper noble from the ancient times and the little rapper couldn’t help but laugh. Beats skated up the side of the platform, locking her eyes on her prize.

"And here she is, the lady of the day.
Looking her best in every way!
Now I wanna hear this crowd get up and sing
For my awesome girl Scarletwing!"

This was it. The crowd would decide if this hype party was a success or failure. The fey magic inside of the Beats sprung forth as Emi’s name began to echo forth from the stage. Colors of amazing scarlet and pink shot forth towards the mesmerized bats below. Beats reached the pinnacle of the platforms, her eyes locking with Emi’s. She did not move, lest the crowd fail her.

And then… the crowd began their chant. The chants of ‘Emi’ from the crowd overtook the manufactured ones done by Beats’ magic. Amongst this chorus of ‘Emi, Emi, Emi’, Beats stuck out her hand. Emi return the gaze, the tiniest nervousness detectable. But it was a drop in an ocean of confidence. She took Beats’ paw and the dance began.

They swirled together as the chanting continued behind them. The music was rocking and Beats could not help getting caught up in it. Despite the choreography they had agreed on and the routine they had planned, Beats was full of cheer. She was finally out in the world and she had finally made a friend! That she could help! She no longer felt alone!

The dance went on, Beats leading Emi in her impromptu madness. But Emi, definitely proving her ability to adapt, managed to take this and warp it into a marvelous display of power and grace. When they separated, Beats threw up a proud thumbs-up to Emi. It was time to let this whole thing loose. The mike came up.

"Thank you all for coming, but have no fear!
There’s no way the party’s stopping here!
I’m turning this into a party thing!
Remember to vote for Lady SCARLETWING!"

The cheer of the crowd roared as Beats dropped the mike from her hand. But with a sudden shift, she kicked it back up into her paws. As she dropped her next verse, she couldn’t help but give Emi a little wink.
