Last year, one year after the corruption of Archmage Hagia, the Feast of Flowering celebrations were subdued, and in some cases, canceled entirely.
The year that followed has been considered bad by many. Now there are whispers among the superstitious—perhaps the bad year was a consequence of unhappy Patrons, snubbed of their yearly springtime offering?
Others scoff at this, citing more worldly reasons for the rough times. What’s certain is that this year’s celebration will likely be more well-attended than the last…
What does your character think?
- The patrons are nothing but old superstitions. Who cares?
- The patrons ensure prosperity, if you honor them.
- Your character isn’t sure what to believe—but they may visit a shrine just in case…
- The belief in patrons is a distraction for the gullible.
January 2023 Prompt
Ius only had one experience with visiting a shrine and these patrons. He isn’t sure what to believe. He knows that he has become more powerful since his visit to the fortune shrine and that makes him lead more towards the side of belief. Maybe these patrons do demand respect. Maybe they are something of a god. Ius is not going to mess with them anytime soon and if they want an offering, who is he to say no. He would likely suppose that it is better to waste some time on a gamble that nothing bad will happen then to ignore the patrons and be left with a devastating result. Unfortunately however, Ius is a bit forgetful so it is never out of the cards that this greedy suid might be too focused on himself to pay any mind to anyone else.
