Dame didn't go outside often, especially not when there was the threat of Team Cyber. She was fine inside the cabin, chatting with Kyrie's other pokémon, or entertaining the younger eevees by letting them chase her ribbons. But, well, that could only last so long, and eventually, Dame had to go outdoors.

Dame sniffed around the yard for a good sunny spot. She didn't plan to go far, nothing that would require the buddy system–so it was a shock to her when she looked up and didn't recognize her surroundings.

The world was dark and rocky, a harsh contrast to the sunny forest. Dame saw floating islands of land hovering in the air, water flowing between them with no regard for gravity. She narrowed her eyes.

"That's weird," she said. "This is weird, right?"

The atmosphere shifted behind her, a presence making itself known. Dame took a deep breath and turned around.

The legendary pokémon undulated through the air, bringing their gold beak close to Dame's face. Their head was larger than Dame's entire body, but she forced herself not to back away. "Oh," she said. "Giratina. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Giratina laughed. "You're not afraid?" they said.

"I read horror stories for fun." Dame paused. "You're in a lot of them. Yeah, no, I'm kind of scared right now."

"That's honest of you." Giratina reared back. "But I'm not here to scare you," they said. "I'm here to give you a gift."

Dame tilted her head. "A gift?"

A shimmering portal appeared in front of her. Giratina screeched and the portal coalesced into an egg. Dame's eyes widened. "Oh! This is where Loop de Loop's egg came from!"

"I did not give Loop de Loop an egg," said Giratina. "This is for you."

Dame walked circles around the egg. "Oh my goodness," she said. "I can't believe this. I'm going to be a mom? That's incredible! Oh, wait until Sweet Potato hears about this!"

She looked up. "I can tell the others, right?"

Giratina hummed. "Perhaps. Perhaps not. Your trainer is a very special person, did you know? Their aura has an energy to it that other humans do not have. I am not surprised pokémon gather around them." They paused. "I am somewhat surprised that all the pokémon are eevees, but, well, some mysteries are not meant to be solved."

"What I'm hearing is that I shouldn't tell my trainer."

"That is correct," Giratina said. "I will not forbid you from telling someone you trust, but ensure they will not spread the secret."

Dame looked at the egg again. "Wow," she said. "An egg. I'm gonna be a mom."

"You and your Sweet Potato are a wonderful couple. I'm sure you'll be excellent parents."

"What?" Dame said in surprise. "Sorry, I think there's a mistake? Sweet Potato's not my–"

She was back outside the cabin with the egg before she could finish the sentence.

Dame blinked. While she sat there in confusion, a familiar vaporeon pushed their way through the cabin door.

"Hi," they said. "I saw you head out here, and I wanted to join you. What's that?"

"Uh," said Dame. "Giratina gave me an egg."

Sweet Potato's eyes widened and they bounded over. "Giratina?" they said. "Like, the legendary pokémon?"

She nodded. "It's supposed to be a secret," she said, "but it must be where Loop de Loop's egg came from, too–a legendary gave it to him. Not Giratina, though."

Sweet Potato sniffed the egg. "Smells a lot like the other mystery egg," they said. "I think you're right. If it's a secret, I won't tell anyone, but I'll help you raise it."

"I would like that," Dame said, thinking back to Giratina's comment. "I would like that a lot."
