I uh... this was just made in Frantic Fanfic because I was tired and wanted to write something.

When Damian went to check on him, once again, William was sleeping in. It was unlike him to actually get up on time for anything that Damian, or anyone else for that matter, had planned. His loud snoring however, wasn't enough to wake up Prince, his guard dog, who dozed underneath the teen's arm.

Damian was in the kitchen, making a breakfast that he knew neither him or William would manage to enjoy, the both of them going through the nasty habit of scraping their food under the table for their dogs to have.

Athena and Prince quite enjoyed the food, and Damian knew of William's "issue", not needing food or anything as long as his odd cord was plugged into the wall at night.

Damian had learned not to question it, though. His adopted so-...

He paused at the thought, the sudden thought and realization hit him a lot harder than he thought it would.

PERSPECTIVE CHANGE

"hnnnngh..."

William stirred, turning around and wrapping his cord that plugged him into the wall around his ankles, Prince yawned as well, somewhat mimicking his owner's actions.

He stretched, despite it being of no benefit to his hydraulics.

William sat up, looking down at Prince, who's floppy ears were being flung all over the place when he decided to wake himself up by method of shaking. The dog's collar flipped from side to side, ending up with the oversized dog-tag on the very back, near the nape of his neck. William laughed to himself as his visor turned on.

He may have called Prince a "guard dog", but in reality, the German Shephard could not have been older than a few months old.

"Cmon," William started, pointing at the door to his room, "let's get some breakfast."

PERSPECTIVE CHANGE

Damian carefully ensured to flip the pancake with ease, if he messed this one up, he'd have to clean up wet batter off of the floor too, if Athena didn't get to it first. The stove was already enough of a mess without Collie's extra pair of hands.

He tried not to think of the previous comment, or how he had hesitated about thinking of William as a son. As if on cue, the door to William's room opened. When he had moved in, the "guest room" had been close to the kitchen to ensure that whoever visited would know where the food was quickly, and now it was being served to someone who didn't even eat it.

"Mornin'." Damian heard William greet over the sizzling of the pancakes. He heard the door open slightly more than before and some skittering paws join Athena in the kitchen audience, awaiting for a single drop of batter to arrive to their maws.

"How did you.. sleep.?" Damian asked, attempting to make conversation but hesitating.

PERSPECTIVE CHANGE

William noticed something weird with how Damian asked the question, but didn't bother to inquire further.

"I slept well." He responded. "Prince," The dog turned his head towards William for but a second before returning his unending gaze at the hot iron pan, "was very well behaved last night."

He paused for a second, the eyes on his visor glancing to the side.

"..at least he didn't wake me up for me to find out."

Damian let out a chuckle, turning away from the stove to look at William. "Yeah, Athena was difficult to train as well. You'll get the hang of Prince." He reached down to pet him, quickly retreating to the pan.
