Considered to be found in an unsatisfactory location, the headquarters of Maelstrom Syndicate are found far from the lively bustling streets of Evanlos City. As a result, local young delinquents and a lack of order from absent authorities in the area lead to common property damage and vandalism. Though the building's utter lack of maintenance has some function, however, as it gives off a facade of abandonment and danger to most outside viewers—warding the curious away. Civil disorder runs high all around in the surrounding neighborhood as the otherwise suburban area continues to suffer from high criminality rates and little to no law enforcement. In essence, this is no safe place for law-abiding innocents.

What is Evanlos City, anyway? The capital of its state, famed for its opportunistic culture, diversity, and a plethora of advantageous ventures, the city is also known for its rather acute divisions of class. Where some sections of the city brandish vibrant skyscrapers, interspersed by streets filled with glamorous shops and jolly commotion, to look upon others would be to uncover a far more dark, run down and neglected side filled with crime and disparity. For as long as the residents of these parts can remember, time and time again has the mayor failed to address their pleas, plunging them into a state of mass disorder. While the upper classes enjoy lives rich with delight and success, shadier organizations find their perfect home in virtually lawless outskirts.

Though its numbers are always changing, Maelstrom Syndicate maintains a relatively small cohort to conduct all of its unlawful activity through.

Maelstrom . Syndicate Leader
Tall, bold and aggressive, the one behind the syndicate's creation and lead lies solely on one Popunemytmi, Maelstrom. To the outside eye, he is unapproachable and headstrong, yet to those who've found their way into the strange family, perhaps he has a softer heart than one would assume. Nevertheless, most often is he seen frustrated with his tasks of running the syndicate yet strongly committed toward some type of goal—no one knows.

Choi . Secretary
One step below Maelstrom is his valued secretary, keeper of all files, scheduling, management of secret documents and overall any other work needed behind the scenes. The relationship between the two rather unknown, yet as seemingly close as anyone else in the syndicate seeing as the two are don't normally interact often. However, when it comes to out on the field, Choi reveals herself to be a dexterous and violent demon capable of defending the team ruthlessly.

Raphios . Former Associate
Once among those Maelstrom deemed to be more useful than most working under him, Raphios served as one of the syndicate's main members alongside Chico. He was clever, charming and had a way with gathering intel from persons of interest. This info would later prove to be most valuable when ascertaining the next move. Outside of that, however, he had made himself a lifesaver as backup when situations would go awry in combat, for which Maelstrom can only admit to himself.

Chico . Associate
The syndicate's most deadly and feared gunman, Chico is otherwise a seemingly normal and happy-go-lucky fellow with a chipper attitude and friendly face. Most of his work mates enjoy his presence and cheerful conversation, though some simply can't bring themselves to like him—a too good to be true sort of aura. Nevertheless, he is the one to bring in donuts and other treats on occasion to garner a brighter atmosphere in the office building, happy with his not so ordinary career choice.

Other members . Associates
Other members of the syndicate include Kiyo, Kiryu, Pravuil, and one unlikely rival who finds himself looming around for the fun of it, Aerin. Rather magically, Kiyo manages to dodge Maelstrom's ire by making himself as helpful and admiring as one can be, making it obvious to others around that the shorter Popunemytmi is quite the fanboy. Meanwhile, Kiryu stands more as a rookie who found his way into the syndicate after escaping Sheol, lost without a purpose and searching for a direction in life. Them aside, then there is the conscientious and attentive Pravuil whose gaze upon Maelstrom is unlike the others, making himself useful around the office to gain his boss's favor out of interest in him. Lastly, well, no one knows how Aerin managed to find a corner so close to Maelstrom and especially as an opposing gang leader.

MISSION

The small criminal organization known as the Maelstrom Syndicate has one main objective, and that is to function for the sake of promoting a better life for all its members through whatever means necessary. Headquartered in a bleak zone of Evanlos, opportunities to live even a somewhat fulfilling life seem stark to most, a pit of poverty that leaving most dreaming of ever crawling out of. Some hints over time have suggested Maelstrom knows this all too well, or merely something in his past having lead him down this path of taking care unto others. Whatever may be the case has piqued the curiosity of a few many, observing the Popunemytmi from his distant and high pedastal with wonder and... concern.
