Buff-Spud

Clearsight had been within the SmokeClan camp for little over a moon, With the passing of her two kits, Pearlkit and Russetkit. Only knowing the colours of her kits, when another cat described them for her. Her kits weren't even able to take their first breath. And while her clan mates helped to teach her about StarClan and how her kits would be in StarClan now. She kept faith. She kept strong and faithful that one day she'd see them again. Now most of her days, were sitting outside the nursery, and listening to her surroundings. Spending time with Cocoaheart, the fellow queen often gossiping with her, and escorting her on walks, not far from camp. Helping the blind molly to navigate her way around. Clearsight had now even gotten better at swimming, and now could cross the river to and from the camp. So much so, that she was confident to do it, without Cocoaheart around. Not that it was often she'd be away from the nursery alone. Although right now Cocoaheart wasn't around the nursery. Nor did she seem to actually be around the camp. Although it was nothing to worry about, she was possibly out for a walk or something. So the pale blind molly set herself outside of the nursery. Laying down and stretching out, and their tail flicking slightly. As their ears swiveled around listening to the camp's sounds.

Ripplestar was confined to camp by Burnfleck, ever since the dog attack. And he hated it- for one he couldn't go to the border and meet Webrunner, though he did plan to sneak out at night soon. He needed to let her know what happened and that he was ok. He felt like she needed to know. Back to the camp thing though- there was nothing really to do, he couldn't hunt, he couldn't patrol- Starclan he couldn't even train his apprentice. So here he was, going around camp talking to cats that are going in and out of the area. The camp was pretty empty though and now his only option was...that rouge. A quick mental debate with himself before he gave a sigh, and decided to go over. He softly padded over to her, well aware that she could hear him walking over.

The molly's head turned as she heard footsteps approach her, her lilac eyes looking up as they continued to approach. Although she knew so few within the clan, she couldn't misplace the scent of who was coming towards her. Despite her unseeing eyes, she was so confident in where they were coming towards her, and where they were. "Ripplestar" She began, speaking confidently, knowing all to well who it was approaching her. "What a pleasant surprise" She purred. The leader never approached the queen, she knew why. "So, how can I help you on this wonderful day?" She continued with a purr. Remaining positive, despite the recent deaths of her kits, and the abandonment of her mate. If she could make others believe she was happy, then within time, perhaps she'd be able to even convince herself that she was happy.

Ripplestar gave a small sneer, glad for once she was blind and wasn't able to see his reactions a response to her. He stopped a few feet away, making sure he wasn't too close to her before responding. "I suppose today could be called wonderful," With that he glanced up at the cloudy sky above him before continuing with his sentence, "Am sure you're already aware of me being confined to camp. I've been going around and seeing how the clan is and what they think we need to do to improve camp." He gave a pause before continuing with his next sentence. "....as you are a part of this clan now Clearsight, I came to see how you are."

She continued to face the leader, as he spoke, her ears continuing to stay erect as they were, so she could continue to listen closely to what the leader had to say. Nodding along, she certainly had heard the leader going around talking to other members of the clan. Once he paused, she continued to say nothing, only to have him start back up again, and finally ending. For a while she continued to stay silent, a soft smile still on her face, as she continued to think about how to respond to the leader. "I see" She began, "Well, I'll say that certainly is a surprise" She mewed. This was the first time the leader went out of his way to 'See how she was' frankly she wasn't quite sure how she should respond. "I am frankly shocked that you now seem to deem me worthy enough to see how I am" she continued, a soft smile still on her face. Then her head tilting to the side slightly "I don't recall you caring about my wellbeing when my kits died" Her voice was still as sweet and soft as ever.

Ripplestar gave a small scoff as he listened to Clearsight talk, calling him out on his actions which honestly? He still believed he was right. She was a loner after all, and didn't understand the laws and traditions of the clans. "I showed my care by allowing your kits a proper clan burial and journey to Starclan Clearsight. Not all leaders would do that." Well maybe the leaders now might but he's heard rumors about leaders of past. Solarstar's predecessor wouldn't have done that according to the elders when he was younger- same with Shadestar's predecessor. "Again....you are part of this clan. And I make sure all my clan is well.

"Care? Or what you think doesn't make you look bad in front of the clan?" She turned her head away from the tom. "It wasn't their faults they were born from a loner...much like it's not my fault that I was...or that I was born Blind" Her tail twitched. As she thought about all the times she could over hear others. "Don't think I don't know that you all think I am useless, especially you. Just because I am blind doesn't mean I am deaf too. I take care in listening to the tones of other's voices" Her ears twitched as they soon were pinned back. "You and many others may think that I am useless, but I have gotten through 33 moons of my life. And I know how much you don't want me around 'Tainting' your clan, because I wasn't born knowing your ways. I can leave, should you want me to that much?" She stopped and sighed for a moment, still facing away from the tom. "When you showed pity on me, allowing me to join and raise my kits, I was so grateful for a new life, a new start where I could feel like I was accepted. But I suppose I was wrong..." She began shifting, almost as though she was about to get up to her paws.

Ripplestar watched Clearsight go on about her kits and her birth, a small scowl on his face. Didn't she know why he acted the way he did? He thought she was trying to learn the code and what its worth. His tail irritably twitched as she finished, and he himself started on a tirade. "Warriors reject the soft life of a kittypet- which you were at one point. Your kits weren't which is why they got the ceremony." The tom gave her an almost unreadable look as he continued, as if the next sentence appalled him. "I do not think your less for your lack of sight Clearsight. I would be putting down my own clanmates if I did. Hollypool had lost her eye after all." He gave a small sigh before speaking again. "I do not want you to leave. You managed to convince me to let you join- which I assure you is a task within itself. You were willing to learn the ways of the clans, which is better than half of the loners I can count on. And you are sticking around. If you think I hate cats joining the clans, I hate cats leaving their birth clans even more." "I may not like you....but others do. You are part of this clan now Clearsight. Be proud, because Smokeclan is the best."
