As the sun’s rays continued to lick at the beach, Consus, Vatos, and Boingo found themselves with temporary cover under an umbrella that they had brought with them. To combat the heat, they had walked over to an ice cream vendor to purchase some Starwell themed treats.

“So…” Consus began as he licked away at his floral ice cream- shaped cone, “Are we just going to ignore all of the weird things that keep happening?”

Boingo bit a chunk out of his ugly mangee ice cream bar while Vatos sucked on his strawberry banana popsicle. The scaled browbird shrugged before he responded.

“I mean, we don’t seem to be in any danger or anything. Sure, this weird-as-hell hole opened up outta nowhere, but it seems like everyone is having a pretty good time. I dunno. I’m just out here cause the sun’s out: guns out.”

Consus rolled his eyes and took another lick of his frozen treat.

“Well, it is… pleasant. It seems like this is basically what all of us wanted? In a sense? It’s brought everyone together as well… but it’s awfully strange that everyone is starting to have nightmares about being some sort of creature? Or drowning? Or… just being in the sea as a whole? Hmm…and then there’s the weird “hearing a voice” thing…”

The colorful browbird seemed to chew louder than before as he bit more pieces off his own frozen snack.

“Yeah, well I’m not about to give up all this over some nightmare. Obviously there’s something going on in Starwell, but it’s kinda too early to tell… probably.”

After shaking his head in disagreement, Consus took a bite of his own ice cream before responding.

“I know - it’s a hunch. I just… I can’t shake the feeling that something is really wrong. Maybe I’m just overthinking things.”

Vatos laughed nad put his hand on Consus’ shoulder before lightly pushing him back and forth.

“You might be, and you might not be. We ain’t gonna blame you either way. Just seems like some weird thing that’s going on, and we can still enjoy things for the time being. Can’t live your life scared, now can you? After all, look at all of the good things that have come out of this - we’ve had fun… I think, harharhar!”

The painted satyr gave the two Browbirds a soft smile before continuing to eat.

“Yeah. I guess we have… but don’t say I didn’t warn you if some crazy evil thing happens… or an inconvenience at the smallest.”
