Now that the small series of summer storms had come to pass, Consus felt confident enough to sit outside and read. He picked a large tree and made sure to take a bowl of fruit salad with some additional mangee with him, just for a simple snack. It was a fair-weathered day, but given the recent… unpleasantness… the satyr felt it best to pick a novel with a simple plot; one that was fun and uplifting would do some good to lift the mood. Before cracking open his book, Consus pulled on the soft fibers of the rainbow scarf he’d been wearing, letting the material-turned-flames warm his body against the cool breeze.

Meanswhile, Boingo and Vatos began to set up some poles for a frisbee golf game. The chains of the basket-like nets rattled as the parts were slid into place, and poles shoved into the ground. Blue and red disks were exchanged from one bird to the other before each smiled and squawked about how he would be the winner.

The multicolored browbird stepped up to the line first and started to bounce back and forth on his feet before launching his first frisbee. Almost unsurprisingly, the disk soared over the basket and into the brush, earning a foul screech from the sender. In response, Vatos aimed at the basket, and instead hit the post. Though the frisbee didn’t remain in the basket, the browbird seemed happier with his toss than… whatever that other throw was supposed to accomplish.

The activity from the browbirds caught Consus’ attention, causing him to slowly lower the book from his face. Colorful disk after disk flew around with some entering the basket, some hitting the pole, and most speeding past the bounds of the game.

Still, Consus was happy to see his friends having fun. A wave brom both of the browbirds in return was enough to make Consus smile, snuggle up into the rainbow scarf, and get back to his book.
