The darkness, though familiar, was again eerie in almost every way imaginable. The cold depths still seemed to hold a stark contrast to the colorful towels, umbrellas, and voices of those having fun on the shores of Starwell. Every other descent to this mysterious place had felt mysterious and almost helpless, but now? All three of them had been captured in the clutches of this strange void, and they were strangely aware of it.

The voice called out to them now, louder than it ever had before. This calling, calling, calling… it was always there, Consus could confirm that now… but it never seemed to bother him as much as it did now.

It was soothing, sweet, and deceptive. Something wanted them here in the blissful slumber they had returned to each night, and it had them right where it wanted them.

With their legs now replaced with a strange tail covered in fins and scales alike, Boingo, Vatos, and Consus hovered with a certain hesitance between them. No one wanted to move, fearing that any change in the current would attract what had lured them there in their dreams like that of a spider and the movement in its web. There was no telling what swimming up, down, or out could do; it was nothing but a vast expanse-turned trap.

The painted satyr seemed to struggle as they tried to think of some sort of option, but the calling from the depths resonated in his ears and thoughts as if it was preventing any plans from formulating.

Instead, Consus felt a hand on each of his shoulders as water was displaced beside him. Boingo and Vatos each extended a gesture of comfort to the satyr. Whatever nightmare they seemed to be sharing, the group of creatures put in some thought to their options, and the only one that seemed to bring forth any sort of fruition was to swim deep. Deep. Yet deeper.

They were on their way to find whatever had been seeking their presence… and hopefully the solution to many sleepless nights.
