I never really LIKED the nickname princess….
If it came from the wrong person; it was conceding. A joke to laugh at.
If it came from my mothers; it was annoying. I wasn’t a child anymore.
But it’s important to my relatives. A last ditch effort at connecting me to my grand clonemother.
Alas: it never stuck to me. A meaningless statement.
… Except when she said it…
The way it rolled off her tongue was natural
No matter what tone.
At first it was supposed to be a joke.
A gag that I was in on. Something I wasn’t used to.
But as time went by.. the damned siren desensitized me to it.
Now it causes my stomach to turn, my cheeks to redden
