"Okay, I think that's everything" Oni hummed as he set the last bag of groceries on the counter, smoothing his sweater as he stepped back.

"Yeah.. Thanks for getting it all for me, Oni" Toshi hummed, rubbing his neck, fidgeting before he started to put some of the supplies down, he was nervous, having to talk to his older brother about something and he was kicking himself for being so anxious about it, he knew Oni of all people would understand.

Oni hummed as he eyed his sibling, he could always tell when the oricite wasn't okay, his brotherly instincts kicking in as he gently put his hand on Toshinori's shoulder, making the fox pause and face towards his brother.

The men stared at each other for a moment before Oni finally spoke up. "you all good Toshi? you've been more jumpy than useual" he started, glancing away and humming "is there something you want to tell me?"

"T-tell you..?" Toshi stammered, becoming more uncomfortable "uh... well..." the younger brother trailed off, fidgeting because he didnt know how to say it without it sounding weird

"Did you get that girl youve been seeing pregnant or something?" he questioned, making his poor brother sputter and go bright red, causing a raised brow from Oni.

"N-no! nothing like that..! I-I- we- no!" Toshi covered his cheeks "you taught me better than that..!" he protested, he certainly was not about to give Oni a nibling any time soon, he was being safe with that..

"Well then... what is it?" Oni prodded, gently poking the mans forehead "you know you can talk to me about anything, right?" he assured, his voice much softer than before..

He had some suspicions with what this was all about, but he wanted to hear it from Toshi himself, as he had overheard some things in the cafe, but hadnt made any comments about it for that exact reason...

"Uhm.." toshinori poked his fingers together, turning his head away nervously, his large fluffy tail swishing as he musterd up the courage to talk to his brother about all this "well uhm... you know Mei..? how i told you i think.. she thinks im two people..?"

"Yeah...?" oni asked curiously "go on.." he prodded.

"Well... uh..." he ran his fingers through his own long hair, looking around as he tried to find the right words to say to oni, he knew hed be upset, because people werent supposed to really know about this but.. "she.. found out thats not the case..." he said nervously, playing with his fingers.

"..." Oni blinked at his brother before softly humming, shaking his head "if you trust her not to tell anyone. I wont see it as a bad thing.. but i gotta ask, how did she find out?" Oni wasnt mad, it was bound to come out to the person Toshi was dating eventually.

"Well uh.. she actually chose me" he said, flusterd "like.. chose me and not akuma" he had the smallest smile on his face, playing with his fingers..

"And?" oni prodded "how did that go?"

His aura turned awkward again remembering how they officially started dating "well... it really surprised me when she chose me.. and i voiced that, and she realised right away i was lying then... she uh...basically chased me back to my apartment, and i couldnt not let her in, and i explained it.. really badly.."

"A real cassinova" Oni cut in, crossing his arms with a soft chuckle.

"sh-shut up-" Toshi huffed softly, slouching a bit "but... she understood.. i think one of us made a comment of it being like one of her manga's.. and yeah, she knows now" he softly explained, rubbing his neck, only to move to keep unpacking the groceries to give himself a bit of a distraction "but theres.. one other thing i wanted to talk to you about..?" he said timidly.

Oni hummed, moving to start unpacking things as well, knowing where his brother liked to store certain things in his cupboards, giving Toshi time to say it in his own time, but the fox didnt, staying quiet for quite a while before finally sputtering it out.

"Do you think you could start calling me akuma from now on..?" he asked quickly, worried about his brothers reaction to the similar name to his own..

"akuma?" he clarified, tapping his lips "yeah.. i think i can manage calling you akuma" he assued, smiling at his younger sibling, giving him a quick patt on the head givin he knew for a fact akuma didnt like being touched very much "can i ask a why to that aswell?"

"well... i just think its a nice name.. i know you named me and everything but.. Mei named me akuma.. and thats really special to me, cause shes special to me" he explained, rubbing his arm, a smile on his face again "i-its not that i dont like the name toshinori- and akumas a little more of a prefrerred last name b-but-" he rambled, only to be stopped by his brother.

"akuma, you dont have to explain yourself, i promise" he assured, starting to pack away the now empty bags back into the bag of bags, shrugging a little "I'm transgender, Akuma, I get it, and im not about to force you to keep the name i gave you.. i had it done to me.. i know its not pleasant" Oni softly explained, glancing away from Akuma, sighing softly

"yeah... i know.. mom.." akuma murmured softly, looking down, "thanks Oni.. it genuinely means alot.. and i appreciate you understand" he musterd up, trying not to let the mention of their parent tank things too much.

"yeah.." oni rubbed the bac of his neck, looking back to his brother "course, even if its just a 'preferred nickname', ill do my best to call you what you want, and if you decide you want some other name, ill call you by that then too" he assured his brother "now.. i think we can settle down and you can make me dinner for buying you food?" Oni joked, gently punching his brothers shoulder.

"yeah" akuma smiled "i can definately do that.."
