On the morning of Halloween, the trio set out for the town's pumpkin patch. The sun shone brightly, casting a warm, golden hue over the fields of ripe, orange pumpkins. Armed with baskets, they wandered through the rows, searching for the perfect pumpkins. Danny, the ghost talonfish trailed alongside the three with his own basket. Vatos was the first to spot his, a plump and blemish-free pumpkin that seemed to beckon with endless carving possibilities. Boingo found himself looking at a sturdy, medium-sized pumpkin, while Consus chose a small, round one, perfect for his charming ideas.

Back at their shared space, they laid out their tools: carving knives, scoops, and markers. Boingo, with his usual flair, began sketching a complex haunted house design on his pumpkin. Vatos, seemingly steady-handed and precise, carefully outlined the classic triangular eyes and jagged smile on his. Consus took his time to draw a cute, smiling ghost on his. As the sun dipped below the horizon and the moon started to rise, the friends began carving. Vatos’ haunted house soon had windows that glowed eerily with the help of tea lights. Boingo's jack-o'-lantern beamed with a warm, flickering light from within. Consus’ ghost, with its friendly grin and hidden mangee inside, looked as though it might float away at any moment. With their pumpkins complete, they placed them on the front porch. Vatos’ haunted house cast eerie shadows, Boingo’s jack-o'-lantern grinned menacingly, and Consus’ ghost radiated a friendly, welcoming glow. The trio stepped back to admire their handiwork while Consus’ rainbow scarf gently flapped in the wind.

Halloween night arrived, and trick-or-treaters flooded the streets. Boingo, Vatos, and Consus greeted each one with a warm smile and handfuls of candy. But it was their pumpkins that stole the show, drawing admirers from all around. As the evening wore on, the three friends huddled together on the porch with Danny asleep in Boingo’s lap, sipping hot apple cider and sharing spooky stories. It was a Halloween they would never forget, filled with laughter, creativity, and the warmth of friendship.
