Replaced

Imagine being the king of the world for 10 amazing, beautiful, great years only to be replaced by someone smaller, cuter, fresher than you. Well that's how my world felt the day that my little sister came into the world.

It was a regular summer day in Unicornia. I was the average 10 year old boy, obnoxious, loud, hyperactive, and every other trait you'd associate with that age group. I had just woken up and was surprised to see my breakfast not on the tray table, I walked out the door to see no one in the prince's hallway but me... That was unusual, my hallway should have had tons of servants running around, their only job was taking care of me, so why were they not at their posts? I didn't really understand, but I kept moving towards my parent's room. I spotted every servant running around frantically, some were cheering with joy, others were freaking out. I ran up to one of the servants and said, "Uhm sir, what's going on here?".

"Oh uhhh your highness, your sister was born last night! Didn't you hear? Oh dear why aren't you dressed for the celebration! Your highness you must be getting ready now, goodbye!" he said, the words seemed like a jumble of gibberish except for one thing: sister.

I ran back to my bedroom and got dressed in my royal garments, my parents had told me that I was getting a sister, but the thought never sunk in until it actually happened. I looked in the mirror and realized that I had no idea where my crown was! So I went on a frantic search for it all around my bedroom, until I stepped on it. I screamed, but nobody seemed to notice. I placed it on my head and set off for the party.

The party was just as boring as any party was, except for the first time, nobody payed any attention to me! How could they? I was the future king, and I had a hurt foot! But nooooo they all had to look at the baby! When I finally even got a chance to look at the baby all I saw was a tiny thing with huge eyes wrapped in a pink blanked. What was so special about it? Nothing, that's what! I looked at it for a long time, realizing that this was my life now. I could never go back to the way things were before Charlotte was born.
