"There's no such thing as ghosts... There's no such thing as ghosts..." Repeating this to himself, Cortez clung tightly to his partner's arm as they walked down the dark hallway. A complete and utter coward, haunted houses obviously weren't something he would choose to go in on his own. His child, however, was an entirely different matter, Art was having the time of his life running ahead and squeeing excitedly whenever something popped out or screamed at him. He had his own playmate Raz with him to drag around by the hand, who always looked far less entertained despite being similar in age, but never left the little prince's side.

The girlish scream very much didn't come from the children as a 'ghost' dropped down right in front of Cortez. Muffled chuckling soon followed, Kal was clearly doing his best not to laugh. "It's not funny," He pouted, flailing the bedsheet on a string to the side. "It's a little funny," came the retort, one he supposed was to be expected, but also got a short smooch. It served its purpose well enough, calming him down enough to sigh. "I really don't get why they wanted to come in here so badly. The props aren't even made all that well."

Of course Kal couldn't help but point out, "They were made well enough to give you a scare," earning him a small huff from Cortez. He couldn't argue that though, and had a hard time getting any sort of upset with Kal anyway, "I suppose, I just hope we're nearing the end." Watching the children disappear around a corner to start screeing again right away, there were many doubts about that. The one good thing out of the haunted house, however, was that he had a brave and dashing king to hold on to through their way.
