"Don't even, you know I've gotten stronger!" Quinn smiles at their crush, Ezra, who looks at them with a slight shocked expression. "Quinn you know this won't end well, I always win." Her voice is soft, not cocky or sassy. She just knows how it will go, as it always ends the same way. "I've been training a lot, my Absol is even able to mega-evolve now. I have good hopes." Their eyes were filled with enough determination that Ezra almost felt bad to start the battle. Although, she loves a good pokémon fight, even if it's someone she has a growing crush on. "Be ready, I've gotten stronger too."

Quinn starts with their Mawile, and Ezra sends in her Lopunny. The younger of the two commands their Mawile to use Stealth Rock, a new move that hasn't been used by them before. "That's interesting, I wouldn't expect you to start setting up on me." Ezra says, thinking of all the ways to stall out the sharp rocks. Lopunny hits the opposing pokémon hard with a Drain Punch, draining the Mawile to only about one quarter left of health. "Are we using healing items?" Quinn asks, the sass in their voice replaced by concentration and passion. "Yes, why not?" Ezra has no concerns, a few potions will not change the outcome. Quinn uses a hyper potion on the Mawile, hoping that was the best decision. "No switch in? Bold choice." Ezra continues to speak out her observations, noticing the differences in Quinn's battle style. She uses Drain Punch again, getting the poor Mawile back to the same health it was just at.

This time, Quinn retrieves the deceiver pokémon back into it's ball, sending in their Salamence. A quick Dragon Claw takes out the Lopunny, not giving it the chance to get another move in. A smile paints Ezra's cheeks, happy to see improvements in the battle structure of Quinn. "Told you I was stronger!" The shining grin all across their face making Ezra's cheeks lightly pink. Milotic is released from its luxury ball, making Quinn's prideful stance disappear. The Stealth Rocks dug into the fish, making it lose a small percentage of its health, but not enough to make her worried. Luckily, Salamence was faster then the Milotic, giving it the chance to hit a critical Thunder Fang. This brutal attack left Ezra's pokémon in the red. Seeing as she had no other choice, she went for a very risky Blizzard, hoping it would hit. It collided with the dragon, and even with a high special defense stat, it couldn't survive the move. "Shoot! You're always so lucky with that Blizzard!" Quinn brings the now fainted Salamence back, not sure of who to counter with.

After a few moments, Quinn decides on sending their beloved Sylveon out to battle. The Milotic uses Recover, healing up to 3 quarters health. This ruined the plan of quickly taking out the Milotic. Cursing under their breath, they tell the Sylveon to use Magical Leaf. It does half of the Milotic's remaining health, bringing into a range where a KO could happen. The water type uses Scald, just trying to whittle down the health points of the eeveelution. It did a nice chunk, doing 1 third with the boosted same-type stab. Ezra wasn't too sure that her Milotic had much else to do, so she's willing to leave it in and possibly faint it. Sylveon uses Swift, taking out the Milotic just barely. "I'm impressed, you have gotten a lot better with battling." The compliment made Quinn swell with a feeling of pride, and also happiness. Ezra's opinion mattered a lot to them.

The next pokémon to hit the field is Mewtwo, a team destroyer of Quinn's. A Poison Jab knocks the Sylveon out immediately, making them send out the best counter they had for Mewtwo; Absol. They mega-evolve the specially colored version, hoping that the Dark type moves would be able to get the Mewtwo out of the picture. The legendary shoots a Focus Blast, but misses. Quinn lights up, feeling that maybe this was possible! Absol uses Night Slash, bringing the Mewtwo down a quarter. It didn't do nearly as much as they had hoped, but there was still a chance. Mewtwo tries Focus Blast again, this time colliding with the Absol. The base 120 power move coming from the legendary was more then enough to one-shot the opposing Absol.

Quinn now feeling very uncertain for the outcome of the battle, sends out their Gallade. Mewtwo didn't have any super-effective counters for this opponent. It was told to use Psystrike, a move that was just 1x effective. Although still very powerful, bringing the Gallade to only half of its HP. The blade pokémon used Night Slash as a counter, dwindling the HP of the Mewtwo to zero. Ezra giggles, excitement laced in her laughs. "I can't believe it, you got my Mewtwo down! Maybe I'm in trouble." Quinn quickly does a fist bump, not expecting to get this far.

Ezra thinks for quite a while, before settling on throwing the ball that holds her Decidueye. The Gallade uses Shadow Claw, having a higher speed stat then the ghostly owl, making it hit first. The move did around 45%, and was countered with a sharp Shadow Sneak. Gallade falls, and Swampert is let out of its ball. "I thought you would bring the Mawile out again." Ezra mutters under her breath, not expecting Quinn's switch choice. The water starter is 4x weak to grass types, but maybe Quinn had a good idea for this switch in. Decidueye uses Leaf Blade, bringing Swampert to 1 HP, as it was holding the Focus band. Ice Beam is used by the fully-evolved Mudkip, fainting the owl. "You thought I wasn't going to put up any fight as usual, right Ezra?" She returns her starter pokémon back to its luxury ball, grabbing at her second to last choice. "I thought it would go a bit easier for me."

Hydriegon emerges from the thrown pokéball, roaring at the Swampert. The hydra makes quick work of the opposing pokémon with a Dragon Pulse. Quinn senses their defeat, only having a damaged Mawile left. They send it out, knowing the end is near. Even with the extreme type disadvantage to fairy, Hydriegon was extremely fast. It uses Flash Cannon, making the Mawile faint to end the fight. "You did great Quinnie, much stronger from our last battle." Ezra praises the fighting of her friend, happy to almost have a proper opponent. "I'm gonna win soon, just watch."
