A little family dance party. In which starts out high energy with Mar at the drums, the babies wiggling in their walkers/playpens and Blue with Flint swinging around the room. When the kids go to bed. It calms down for a moment as Mar and Flint sorta sway a bit. Mar hums a different song and they sway to that instead. The song is one that Ushi the Hylotl taught him.

Mar was in charge of getting the kids to bed after the ‘way-to-late-after-bedtime’ dance party, all while Flint cleaned up. Blue fussed a bit, but a story about Ushi the Protectorate soothed her to rest.

Mar softly kissed his oldest daughters head. Softly thanking any deity that would be listening for her. Smoothing her foliage till her breathing was even and she was smiling through sweet dreams.

The two babies had gone to rest without a peep. Basically already sleeping while he placed them in their cribs.

He let the door shut with a quiet click. Sighing happily as he kept his hand on the knob, listening for just a moment. Not a peep, a whistle, or a fuss. Just the quiet hum of snores and nightlights.

The door caught a fragment of blue light, and a warm hand was placed on his shoulder.

“Kin I ‘ave this dance?” The words buzzed the air. Quiet yet still lively.

Mar’s answer was given in the form of turning and putting his arms around the Novakid. And the two started to sway. This dance was much slower then the dancing from earlier. And the music?

A light tune, hummed from memory. Taught to Mar by his closest friend. He did not know the words or the meaning behind the tune, but it meant love. His friend had said so.

So he hummed it now. For his love.

They pull apart the smallest amount, so they could look at each other. Eyes locked, picking apart the past that had lead here. Occasionally a note would falter and their gaze would unfocus, but would pick up again soon.

The tune froze to a stand still when Mar’s shoulder locked up. He felt heavy. His face twisted. Frustration and pain. He tried to move it, to pull away as it burned.

He was about to apologize for ruining the nice moment, when he heard the tune. Hummed with a different energy. Kind warmth spread through the sore heat of his shoulder and a pale blue, almost white, lit up his face.

  “Thank you…”

The humming continued, so Mar joined in. Making it an odd harmony.

He shrugged his shoulder, the one former aching, and brushed the hand against his cheek.

Flint’s tune was interrupted with a small laugh. And the warmth of his hand traveled down the Floran’s arm. Till it grasped his hand loosely. A white flush of light went to his face as he lifted the hand. The hand was brushed against his face, close to the brand. The white flush flooded close to it, swirling about it. Bathing it in a white blue warmth.

  The two laugh.

And they end up close once again. Foreheads touching and eyes shut. They hummed and swayed.
