“You ready to go yet?” Caspian called back over his shoulder into the cabin of the ship. The tall, sandy coloured browbird was currently stood in front of a large oval mirror, adjusting his new-as-of-a-while-ago neck piece. It was a large golden piece inlaid with the same colour rocks and gems as his old ones which he wore carefully placed atop. His winnings from the Harara games.

Caspian thought back to getting his ass kicked by September’s brother in those games. He winced and then furrowed his brow as something strange tickled his nose… Something… Fishy…

“Ready!” September exclaimed as she burst into Caspian quarters. The short, autumnal browbird was dressed up in… well as close to her best as September really got. That is, her usual outfit with a oval, gilded broach she got somewhere in her travels pinned to… well this time it was her arm band but the piece of jewelry got around when she wore it. However, the most notable thing about September in this particular moment was the absolutely massive fish she had clutched in both arms and half sung over her shoulder.

Caspian stared at the younger bird with the deadpan expression of someone who was used to her shenanigans. Then, not breaking eye contact, reached over and grabbed a camera that sat on his vanity, quickly snapping a picture of her.

“Hey!” September winced at the flash, wrinkling her nose at him and then trying to rub her eyes with her shoulder.

“You’re not bringing that.” Caspian replied, taking the now printed photo that the camera spat out and shaking it a bit so it developed faster. He had started keeping it around for when September did something silly.

“It’s for the potluck!” September retorted, blinking rapidly to clear the light spots from her eyes, “I don’t remember how I got it though… Just found it when I woke up after the thing with the Inkwell…”

“Uh-huh…Well if anyone asks I'm telling them I told you not to.” Caspian placed the now developed photo on his vanity and scooped up some pre-packaged cookies he had picked up in town and re-plated, “I’m not sure a whole, uncooked fish will go over well at the table.”

~~~
“Is… Is that for the cauldron??” A curious saytr asked as September made their way towards the giant cauldron dominating the end of tables laden with food. The alarm on their face was obvious.
“Yup!” September replied as she began hoisting the massive creature up over the rim.
Caspian watched from a safe distance as September tried to hoist the fish into the cauldron while various individuals attempted to convince her otherwise. He sipped gingerly at a mug of cider he had picked up from a stall and smiled, shaking his head.
