Light teasing

Snow drifted gently along the outside of the spire, as the gently crunching of the snow grew fainter and fainter. N and S stood in the entrance of the structure, watching as Uzi left to go back to the colony. N waved after her, smiling at the short worker drone. S was also waving, but stopped after a bit, looking at N.

They chuckle a little as they see his expression, but N doesn't take notice.

"So. N when are you gonna ask her out?" S says, grinning. N's head turns to them quickly, a few lines of blush under his eyes.

"What do you mean-?" N says, stunned by the question.

"Come on N, its clear that you like Uzi!" It says, lightheartedly.

"She's my best friend, S! We're just friends.." He says but looks away. N starts to walk back towards the landing pod to escape from the rising sun, and S follows behind him to do the same. V should be back already, if not she'd be back soon.

"I can tell, N," S says, opening the hatch so they can both enter the pod. Ever since S became friends with the odd trio, N had offered for it to stay in the spire, without J there, there was much more space.

"... How can you tell?" N asks, sitting in one over the chairs.

S notes the fact he didn't deny their accusation, they then speak again. "Well, there's the way you look when she has to leave, you look so sad, and not in a way that is about a friend not being able to stay the day." N opens his mouth to deny that, but closes it to continue listening. "And do I need to add the fact you two danced together at prom? I may not have seen it, but V told me about it."

N smiles a little at that, at least S and V were getting along! He then shakes his head, "We were fighting Doll! That doesn't really count.."

"Oh it SO counts."

N leans back in the chair, nodding a little. "I guess you have a point.."

Silence fills the pod before S breaks it.

"You are unbelievably dense towards what Uzi thinks of you."

N looks at them, shocked. S simply smiles at him.
