Soulsong: Mir

Finally, Mir is free. She steps out of the Temple of Silence and into a large meadow, where she sees innumerable other esks who have seemingly been through situations like hers also exiting. Some breathe sighs of relief, some panicked souls immediately leave the conservatory, some burst into tears, and some look as if they don’t know what to do with themselves. One esk towers over all of them, and the familiar figure of 000 reminds everyone that there is order, there are answers. At least, that’s what the sense of anticipation in the air tells them. 

Mir feels no need to hear out her story. She had never truly felt a connection to the grandmother of all esks, so when they lock eyes, and 000 gives Mir a knowing glance, Mir simply nods and turns to walk away. There are too many esks here, and although Mir knows that she could wait somewhere away from anyone else, she has places to be. People to say goodbye to. 

The glass panes of the Conservatory give Mir a sense of hope that this time she will be able to leave, and as she looks up at them one last time before going, Mir wishes that the creator of the temple can also find the peace that she was able to find. It must be hard to be that lonely and yet give peace to so many people.
