I had a strange dream that wasn't quite a dream. Moreso a premonition.

It was early afternoon. With all the preparations going on for the gala, the shop wasn't seeing many customers so I cancelled my daily storytelling, though I remained inside the store. I was reading a lovely story about a seafarer after all, so I was in no rush in leaving.

As I was reading however, I fell asleep. And when I awoke, the sun was already setting, casting the shop in a calming, golden hue. I didn't usually sleep that long in the shop, though I figured it was because no one disturbed me if I did have visitors come in.

But I had suspicions that something was amiss. The book I was reading was gone, and my body was in such good shape that I didn't need my cane. I don't have difficulty walking, mind, but the difference was staggering.

As I tested my legs, I heard chirping outside the store. I tried to look out the window to see the birds but I couldn't see anything due to how bright the light was. Eventually the chirps turned to screeches. So, worried for their safety, I tried to leave the store.

But I couldn't. The door was locked. Try as I might, I couldn't get it to open, and it took me a while to discover the door didn't have a keyhole at all.

And then the room went dark and cold, a sudden turn when it was so warm earlier. I felt watched so called out to no avail, and the room felt like it was shrinking, and the screeching only got louder. The pair of eyes was moving closer. Spells didn't work either; my lights faded as soon as I summoned them. It was only when I stomped the ground a few times that the colour came back in waves.

Absolutely stunning scenery appeared before me; of several places I knew Reverie didn't have. There were plains with winds blowing, beaches where massive blue crystals formed, glowing green swamplands. Lush forests with the tallest mountains I've ever seen. A whole city underwater with creatures I couldn't begin to describe. A fortress, surrounded by fire and had ash raining down.

In my state of awe, I almost missed a golden fox-shaped figure that ran past me. It nodded at me. I nodded back. And it faded away before I heard a voice behind me.

As if the sight of imaginary lands wasn't surprising enough, who I turned to when my name was called was the Morgana, The Seer of the Unknown, stepping into my dream in Narcissa's stead because it seemed more like a prophecy.

It was surreal, speaking with her directly. She was incredibly kind. She wanted me to come to my own conclusions with what I was seeing, as she wasn't the one who created the landscapes that were displayed. She was in the dream though. Not Narcissa. So my guess was the areas were not really part of one's imagination.

There was a concerning bit that came up during our conversation though. The eyes peering at me in the darkness; they weren't Morgana's. She wasn't even aware of their presence.

Before we could speak further about it however, she sensed that we didn't have long as I was waking up, so she let me pick one of her tarot cards. The one I chose was the reversed Emperor.

I wish she had time to tell me what it entailed, but our time was cut short. She could only tell me that Senka sent her regards and to never stop asking questions before I was awake again, to chirping outside my window that didn't devolve into screeches. The only physical sign that my dream held significance was the fact I still have the card.

Something is going to happen at the gala. I need to find someone who can read tarot cards.
