“Okay, okay, no, obviously the PC and Aster are great together,” Bishop says to his stream. Chat explodes into agreement and dissent, but Bishop isn’t finished. “I really think that they put a lot of nuance into that relationship within the writing of the game. You can tell they’re a complex character from even minor interactions in the beginning, even though if you’re not paying attention you might mistake them for a purely evil archetype. It does make the romance arc that the game follows - if you decide to romance them - really interesting. There are certain choices I wish you could make that you can’t, but that’s the limits of game design, y’know?”

Someone shoots him a two stargold donation with the note, ‘like what lol? write us a fanfic!’

Oh, thanks for that, asterluvr99,” Bishop says, flashing his camera a crooked smile. “Appropriate username. Okay, alright, so - you know that point in the game where you basically get two options? Light spoilers, by the way. Give it a second for everyone to jump off… Okay, so. You can turn them away for the messed up stuff they did in the past or you can go through the dialogue tree and end up encouraging them to do better? Obviously the more interesting choice is the second one and I like how it’s handled. There’s lots of ways to spin it, like you can be disgusted or totally accepting. The variation’s great. But I also sort of like imagining that my character would’ve given them the amulet you find in the first chapter of the game. Yeah, that amulet. The one from the god of new beginnings? Like, Aster in later chapters is so remorseful realizing what they’ve done, I just feel like it’s a perfect opportunity that the devs totally missed. So, yeah, if I wrote fanfic I’d write that moment.”
