Streets
Once upon a time there was an average week day
There was life walking the streets
Until the ground scared them to death, and then the ground began to shriek
It was just an average morning, maybe a Saturday afternoon
I do not know, I can't recall
All I remember was the nuke
It came and went, it comes and goes
When we die let's leave lots to show for it
When we explode, let the world know
That we're aren't the ones who caused all of this
We were once an average week day
Once another proud average nation
We were consumed by the cracks across the streets
Now we're rations and amputations
All we have to show is mutilation
Safety death and radiation
I guess the streets just aren't something we'll reclaim
