Kurin

When Kurīn was just a small Yokai, she loved running around the house, making a mess wherever she could. Her parents would get very aggravated by this and made her clean it up, only for her to ruin it again. Her parents never understood why she wanted to mess around if it was more work for her.

One day, she got very sick and her parents couldn't find a Mage who was able to save her. She died a week later, becoming a god due to her heartfelt concern for her parents. The gods did not want a new God, and when she said she wants to work to save people from the demons, they laughed and turned her into one.

With her demon nature starting to creep in,  she started going to other people's houses and messing it up, then going back to the house to clean after she remembered her morals. One day, as she was strolling along to see which house to mess up next, she spotted Akai Hono.

As soon as she saw him, she knew what to do. She followed him home, of course.

When Akai got into his ship, Kurīn slipped in, unnoticed by Akai. She snuck around the ship, hiding in shadowy areas as a black cat. She waited until Akai went to his cabin and then messed up the whole lower floor of the ship. She finished her job and went up the stairs to finish messing the boat up.

That's when she tripped on a shoe Akai forgot to put away. Akai heard the clatter and someone saying, "Ow!" He rushed outside into the landing area to find a black cat on the end of the stairs, just laying there. He picked up the black cat and checked it out to see if there were any injuries. "I swore someone was here," he thought to himself. "Oh well, guess it was just this little cat." Akai went to put some maps away and came back into his cabin where the cat was perched curiously. "Oh! So you're awake huh?"

As soon as he said the words, he fell backwards at the sight in front of his eyes. He saw this cat change?!? He closed his eyes and then opened them again after a few seconds to make sure it wasn't a dream. Sadly, it wasn't. What had taken place in front of him was that there is now a human (or almost human) girl in front of him. He slowly got up and asked where the cat went. "Right here," the mysterious girl said. "I'm Kurīn, by the way. Nice to meet you!" Akai fell back again and passed out.

When Akai woke up, Kurīn was in front of him. "Good! I thought you were dead." Akai shook his head in disbelief and looked at her again. Did she seem like a normal human? He was really confused and shaken up. "You're Kurīn, right?" He asked. "Yup! Thanks for helping me up your stairs, you should really tidy it up!" "Yeah, sorry about that." He replied. "Why are you here?" "Oh, well because you looked pretty annoyed and lonely, so I accompanied you here in hoped to become your familiar!"

"My what? I think I feeling dizzy again..." Kurīn slapped him awake again. "Your familiar! Don't you know what that is?" "N-not exactly." He replied. "Well, I'll have to teach you! A familiar is an animal, like myself, who accompanies you on your journey through life, lending you a hand when you need it!" Akai was a bit confused still, but somehow, in a way, comforted?

"That would be pretty neat, how do I get one?" He asked Kurīn. "Well, all you have to do is agree to let me be your familiar!" "That's it?" Akai said. "That seems a bit simple." "Oh right! I forgot. You have to sign here, and here, and here, oh and right here, and here, and here." "That's a lot!" "Well, when having a familiar, it is also a lot, so consider this a very underrated introduction." Akai finally agreed and signed what seemed to him 1500 contracts.

When he was finally done, Kurīn stuffed all the papers away. "I am now your familiar!" She said. Akai felt somewhat better now that he had a familiar? It was weird to him. "Ok, I'm going downstairs to do the human thing called 'eating,'" he said to Kurīn. "I know what that it. We have to eat too," Kurīn replied with a slight bitter tone. He went downstairs, and once he reached the bottom step, Kurīn could hear her name very clearly, "Kuuuuuuuuuuurīīīīīīīīīīn!" Kurīn could feel that this was a good contract.
