Candy Shopping
It's time for a treat! Angel actually has something given to her in a moment of whim.
The carriage rolls and I peer out the window, glancing at the many people going by. How nice, how lovely, to see them go by like this! It’s peaceful, almost, just seeing them walk, murmur, talk, laugh. It was so, so peaceful… “Angel! Look, we’re almost there!” little Ada chirps as she points to her own window. I lean over to peer to her side. “See? There’s the shop I was telling you about!” I could only nod. A shop just for Dropzillas…I heard many good things about it. Was it scary? Was it mysterious? Yes, it was. But I couldn’t help but take Ada along so that she may see it. After all, I am her Christmas present.
The carriage stopped and we were allowed out, Ada stumbling on her steps as her mother watched with a tight smile on her lips, worry in her eyes. Fear? Hesitation? I know she didn’t think much of Dropzillas as people like her and Ada, but she is my Master and I will do whatever she wants me to do. So I will listen to her words and swallow them whole in a choking embrace. Master just looks at me and I bow in acknowledgment before we enter the store. My eyes widen, it’s quite big on the inside. “Welcome, welcome!” the store owner calls out. We head over to him with curiousness and apprehensiveness. “I’m Ophiucus, but you can call me Serp. How may I help you today?”
“I wanna buy something for my Drop!” Ada chirped as she pointed to me. I nod and curtsy in response.
“How do you do?” I address. He grinned.
“Well, why not start with sweet things or something they love? Dropzillas love sweet things like candy or pastries or-“
“What kind of candy? I know my children would love some,” Master asks of him.
“Oh! They’re right over in that section, just keep heading to your right until you see it. Can’t miss it, it’s very big!” With a nod, she ushers us into the desired section we need to go to. My breath hitches as I spy all the sweets, throat tightening. How lovely, how wonderful, how nice…
“Mommy Mommy there’s so many of them ooooh CHOCOLATE!” Ada shrieks as she runs over to look at the wares. I glance at my Master as she moves forward, keeping a careful eye on Ada. I stay standing there, just looking at everything, not feeling worthy of taking anything. Let my Master do that, I’m so lost without her… The wait is long and agonizing, but finally, they return, an armful of candies in Ada’s arms and a single rainbow lollipop in my Master’s hands. Is that…? We walk back to Serp, but I can’t help staring at the lollipop. Is that…for me? Serp grins as Ada places all the candy on the counter, alongside the lollipop. “These please!” she chirps.
“Alright, that’ll be 46 candies!” My Master pulls out her purse and gives the candies while Ada stares wide eyed.
“Candy is money, Mommy?” she asks. I stare too, I did not know this. How curious, how cute!
“For Dropzillas, yes. They’re special candy that shouldn’t be eaten,” she explains.
“…Can I eat them? We’re special, aren’t we?” She laughs, a most wonderful sound, as she pats her little one’s head.
“No, I’m afraid. They’re magical and made to be used as currency. Maybe one day you can try one, but it might not be good for you. Alright, darling?”
“Okay, Mommy!” I watched as Serp rings up the candy and then they’re back in Ada’s arms. Master hands me the lollipop, causing Serp to frown.
“Oh? Which ones are for the Dropzilla?” he asks.
“Just that, the rest are for my child.” His frown deepens but he says nothing as he waves goodbye to us. I can’t help but glance back and see his sad expression. I’m happy, with Master and her family. I truly am. Why is he sad? I do not understand at all…

Welp, this one is angsty too. Whoops. But yeah, Angel's Master, Galiena Schulte, is rather...prejudiced against Dropzillas. She respects the Queen and her powers but overall, Dropzillas are just workers and nothing more. They make rather good servants after all and she sort of views them as lesser, but she's very good to all the Dropzillas she owns. She makes sure they get enough love by having them be near her children ever day (Her husband and her don't really provide that love) and they tend to give them a lot of sweets the cook makes for them daily. Just...well, those with issues are going to have a hard time getting the help they need to move past those issues. :'D I should get another Drop for Angel to interact with within the Schulte family, I bet it'd help her.
